denim shorts, perhaps a vest with wide straps/coverage as sunburn will ruin any luck. Or a playsuit, defo a hat. You probably don’t even need to bother with a mac, will it ever rain again?!

Plughole3 · 26/07/2018 16:08

I would normally suggest a little waistcoat etc but in this heat keeping cool as opppsed to looking cool is a priority 🤣

Deffo! I'm thinking floaty /Maxi dresses - anyone have any links?

I've just been to a festival and floaty maxis were definitely the best way to keep cool.

Hush has nice ones, not cheap but there is a sale on. And I have a nice one from Mango, but not this year's.

hush

Floaty maxis and playsuits would be the worst thing with festival portaloos! My go to festival gear is going to be mini dresses and mini skirts with tops. Cool in both sense of words and no nasty loo issues!

Northernlass99 · 27/07/2018 07:01

No floaty maxi dresses, will be nightmare in toilets and get filthy. Don’t wear anything you care about getting trashed. I was at latitude, it was so dry there was a 3ft haze of thick dust everywhere. If you are just going for the day maybe you could pull it off.

I’d go denim shorts, funky vest top, bum bag, trainers, hat.

Harem pants are a must if, like me, denim shorts are not a good look.

MsJinglyJones · 27/07/2018 09:03

I didn't have a toilet problem with my maxis - just tucked it all up around the waist! Admittedly it you had a downpour and lots of mud then shorts would be better.

Definitely yes to the bum bag, I didn't have one and kept wishing I had.

Just come back from Deershed. The only thing I wore that was a pain in the loo were loose linen shorts that fell to the floor, my maxiskirt was perfect because I pulled it up round my waist. Hush cropped harems were also fine but wouldn't be good in extreme heat, I wore them on Saturday which was warm but cloudy in Yorkshire. So, another vote for floaty dress/skirt. Make sure you have shoulder coverage if you are worried about sun exposure.

Any ideas where I can get a nice bum bag?

Sandals or trainers that you can stand in all day are a must. Don't even consider wearing wellies or boots in the heat. A floaty scarf that you can wrap round your head if you get too much sun or dust. Water bottle that clips to your bum bag. A pouch from home bargains for smuggling spirits if you fancy.
