Best gradual tanning lotion

I'm sick of having to do a once a week tan that is a faff to put on. I've tried the shower tans and hate them so I thought I'd try gradual tans.

I've tried the This Works stuff but it's really hard to get it out of the bottle.

I've also tried Vita Liberata Fabulous, but I wouldn't say it was gradual. I'm very dark after just one application.

So what is out there that meets the following criteria:

  • Gradual tan that moisturises. Something I can just swipe on every day.
  • Doesn't smell of fake tan
  • User friendly bottle

I was going to say Vita Liberata but see you don’t like it.

I get on really well with garnier summer body. Really cheap, easy to apply and I think the colour is pretty natural.

St tropez gradual tan moisturiser. Comes in light/medium medium/dark. I’m very pale and it gives me a very subtle slight tan. I guess you can move onto the darker one if you want to increase. And it smells quite nice.

AngelofTheSilence · 26/07/2018 07:42

St Tropez tinted gradual tan lotion is good but is quite dark after the first application.
I’m finding bondi sands gradual tan mousse (although not tinted) is quite good as well but isn’t as moisturising as the St Tropez one.

I use the Dove one, you have to keep up to it to see results but it gives a very natural colour.

There is a brand called Isle of Paridise I've bought from Boots that do a range of self tan. I've bought tanning drops that you mix in with your moisturiser as you apply it, and the shade depends on how many drops you add. I've been using it for a few weeks and seems great so far. What mainly drew me to it was I hate skipping a day of moisturising each week to apply normal tan.

I bought L'Oréal sublime bronze this year and really like it. It's natural-looking, no streaking even when it fades, doesn't smell bad and sinks in well so doesn't give you sticky legs in bed after you've put it on!

Bondi sands tanning milk is good, subtle to begin with on my olive skin but builds well and doesn’t smell the following day.

OhSandyBaby · 26/07/2018 11:32

I also like Garner summer body. Lovely natural looking tan with no effort at all (and as pp said, very cheap!)

CaseStudyResearch · 26/07/2018 11:33

Yes to Bondi Sands. All of their tanning products are brilliant.

Yohoandabottleofwine · 26/07/2018 11:34

Have you tried the rimmel 1 min shower one? Cheap and fab results

StewPots · 26/07/2018 11:35

I've just started using Bondi Sands gradual tanning oil, pretty impressed so far. It's easy for me to apply too as I'm pretty useless usually with all things fake tan!

gemjon82 · 26/07/2018 11:45

HeShe, visible results after first application, doesn't smell, no streaks and really moisturising. Get it from boots

evilharpy · 26/07/2018 22:05

I like Skinny Tan Body Glow. Superdrug sell it, or the Skinny Tan website sometimes have offers on. It does smell slightly the next day but not nearly as bad as most "normal" fake tans.

Palmers cocoa butter one
