I know retirides is a must buy but is there anything else I should be buying whilst on holiday in Spain?

Heno de Pravia soap (if you like soap, available in all supermarkets)

Saffron and Serrano Ham (you can ask supermarket deli counter to wrap for travel for you)

Shoes! They’re not necessarily cheaper but compared to UK high st better quality for your £ and a Lot more choice (IMHO) 👠

Thanks so much - anything else anyone??

Retirides - tell me more... what is it used for ? Is it anti aging or more for acne conditions?

mumprincess12 · 25/07/2018 22:30

I shall investigate. We go to Spain a lot so this might be a new anti ageing purchase.

The supermarket Mercadona does a lot of great cosmetics and beauty products very cheaply.

For example, I love the 100% organic aloe vera for 5 Euro I think.

Really cheap and good suncream, vitamins etc too if you run out while you´re there including a spf 50 facial spray mist which is good for the beach.

Some of their nail varnishes last lnger than any other nail varnishes I have ever had (think two weeks without a chip) but it seems pretty random. DD has some that don´t last. They all cost less than 2 euros though.

They have great stuff for under eye bags which are little tubes in a white cardboard box for 5 euro. I am sorry I can´t remember the name. I think they are supposed to be single application but you only need about the size of a grain of rice.

Bloggers rave about their anti ageing moisturiser called Sisbel for about 5 Euro too. I haven´t tried it because my skin is crazy but it gets great reviews.

Their basic waterproof eye make up remover costs about 1.10 Euro too and is my favourite. You could buy it to use while there to save on liquids in baggage.

Love Mercadona.

I was about to rave about the mercadona nail varnishes but Margaritas beat me to it. I've been looking for a proper neon orange for ages and finally found one there for a couple of euros and it still looks great on my toes even after a week of camping. They also have neon green and pink.

Where are you going? Most cities now have a Kiko which is worth a look (I reckon their matt velvet lipsticks are exactly the same as Charlotte Tilbury's) and Primor can have some bargains too.

If you manage to catch the end of the sale Bimba y Lola have great costume jewellery and accessories but it's way overpriced otherwise. Their clothes are also much better in real life than on the website.

Adolfo Dominguez - really nice clothes.

Smiler1972 · 20/08/2018 15:47

In Spain at the moment and just bought these from Consum- will try and report back.

I'm still confused how to use retinides - can anyone tell me how to use them. Are they a pharmacy only purchase?

Smiler1972 · 20/08/2018 15:47

A photo would be useful...

Must buys in Spain

I'm going to Spain Friday!
Report back please!

Smiler1972 · 20/08/2018 19:55

Will do @Rollerbird it was just over €11 for both so I'm thinking it will be similar to my usual Aldi caviar!

Beketaten · 20/08/2018 22:19

I was in Spain last week, wish I'd seen this! I got one of the Mercedona own brand Deliplus olive body creams, they were 2 for €2! Really rich but easily absorbed, recommended.
