Dress for a festival

What do you think about this dress for a festival? www.thereformation.com/products/cayman-dress?color=Positano&via=Z2lkOi8vcmVmb3JtYXRpb24td2VibGluYy9Xb3JrYXJlYTo6Q2F0YWxvZzo6Q2F0ZWdvcnkvNWE2YWRmZDJmOTJlYTExNmNmMDRlOWM2

I’m in my late 30s, petite and size 8-10. I’m not really a festival person so don’t want to try to hard to conform, would rather be individual and also comfortable!

It seems very expensive for not a lot of dress!

Kenworthington · 24/07/2018 19:59

Well. It’s GORGEOUS but it’s very expensive for what’s basically a tunic top. Ffs don’t bend over in it

MangoApplePear · 24/07/2018 20:01

It is tiny! But I’m only 5 ft so it will probably hit me mid thigh. I’d wear it with a ‘bralette’ for a bit more boob coverage. Price isn’t so bad in GBP but, yes, it’s not cheap (but I tend to spend a bit on clothes).

I’m only about 70% sure though...

Would this dress look ridiculous at a festival?

That's very short and generally a bit teenagerish isn't it? Tbh I've never seen anyone wear anything like that at festivals (loose skirts or play suits are better for outdoors stuff tbh). I can imagine a thirty something trying to climb back into a tent in that dress at the end of the night.

Candyflip · 24/07/2018 20:05

It’s fine. Nothing special for the price. I tend to go for old favourites at festivals and tonnes of glitter.

Racecardriver · 24/07/2018 20:05

In your place I would definitely opt for a playsuit unless you are happy flashing underwear all over the place.

museumum · 24/07/2018 20:05

It’s far too clubby/dressy for any festival I’ve bedn too.

HoleyCoMoley · 24/07/2018 20:07

It doesn't look like a festival dress and your need to cover up if It got chilly in the evening,

MangoApplePear · 24/07/2018 20:08

Hmm I hadn’t really considered the risk of bum flashing... persuasive point being made there...

It looks obscene on the model but presuming she’s at least 5ft9 and you’re 5ft it will be fine length wise on you. But I agree it’s better suited for a nightclub than a festival.

TheDowagerCuntess · 24/07/2018 20:18

Agree that it's not really practical for a festival - a playsuit would make the whole day a lot easier.

MangoApplePear · 24/07/2018 20:23

ok I no longer think this dress is a contender! I’ll keep looking (really hate playsuits, however, even if practical).

OP posts:
museumum · 24/07/2018 21:00

I don’t think play suits are practical for peeing in a portaloo!

Suzcat78 · 24/07/2018 21:31

Agree with Museum, a playsuit is really the last thing you want to wear at a festival!

ShirleyPhallus · 24/07/2018 21:34

I’ve never seen this website before - they’ve got some gorgeous stuff, what a shame it’s American or I’d order loooaaaadddsss

MangoApplePear · 24/07/2018 22:05

Shirley- I know!! Gorgeous stuff here!

I am surprised people think it’s a nightclub dress. Looks like a lovely day dress to me
