Very pretty!

WhoKnowsWereTheTimeG0es · 24/07/2018 14:57

I've got the exact same ones, love them!

Kaz2200 · 24/07/2018 19:21

Those are lovely where did you get them from.

Sleepyslops · 24/07/2018 19:52

Very nice. Do they fart when you walk? I had some similar, but from next, and they farted with every step.

Primotomb · 24/07/2018 20:31

Kaz - Bought them here: www.footway.co.uk/arizona-regular-birkoflor-shiny-snake-multi.html Didn't realise at the time but they came from Sweden. Ordered Friday arrived Monday and returns are free.

Sleepy - no farting so far!!

They are so pretty. I saw some others as well that were lovely - mayari metallic stones copper.

fatbottomgirl67 · 24/07/2018 20:51

My birkies fart too, but only on odd occasions and never to order. Can never prove its them and not me😊

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 24/07/2018 20:56

These might be the ones that "turn" me into a Birkenstock convert

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 24/07/2018 21:01

Explain to me what a "soft footbed" is, and what's the alternative?

MayFayner · 24/07/2018 21:01

Ooh I have fake gold ones in the same pattern. But yours are much nicer.

goose1964 · 24/07/2018 21:09

I have gizehs in that colour it's really dramatic and goes with everything

StillSmallVoice · 24/07/2018 21:10

I routinely have about six pairs of birkies. Fart? Confused. I am sadly coming to the conclusion, however, that they exacerbate the hard skin on heel problem.

Those are very lovely Birkenstocks. I may just have to get better foot cream.

MissClarke86 · 24/07/2018 21:11

Ooh lovely! I’ve just ordered these:

Sleepyslops · 24/07/2018 21:24

Stillsmall... I got some "fake" ones from next and they made noises at random times when I walked. It was what can only be described as a farting sound! I didn't know if it was the fake shoes or the style of shoes. I never wore them again.

StillSmallVoice · 24/07/2018 21:33

Sleepy - that's a bit sad. The real ones are expensive, though you can get them on sale. I have had the feet of an eighty year old since my late twenties because of arthritis. They really support my fallen arches (oh, the glamour!) and I can walk for miles in them.

nightwispa · 24/07/2018 21:36

Ladies how do you stop your birkies from smelling? I've had several pairs and end up sending to charity shops because the inner sole starts to reek :'(

EdWinchester · 24/07/2018 21:39

Mine never smell. Have you got the 'vegan' ones? I guess they're plastic and therefore prone to ponging.

StillSmallVoice · 24/07/2018 21:44

Never had that problem. ExH had a smelly foot problem till someone told him to spray white spirit on his feet, which worked a treat. Not sure it answers your question though.

Taffeta · 24/07/2018 21:45

Interesting they came from Sweden. I’ve been after the new big buckle Madrid but they’ve been sold out forever. I finally found some on Amazon & they arrived today from France!

Sleepyslops · 25/07/2018 07:20

Stillsmall, I think I need to try the real ones! I have bad feet, fallen arches, too. I've been wearing flip flops a lot these past few months and my heels are sore and my hips are in agony. I have arthritis in my hips anyway but I think the flare up could be flip flop related.

StillSmallVoice · 25/07/2018 08:21

When you do try the real ones be aware that because of the bumps on the soles which you aren't used to they will feel uncomfortable to begin with, but once you get used to them you won't want to go back. Ecco is also very good for bad feet. They are expensive, but last forever.

averythinline · 25/07/2018 08:29

Flip flops are very very bad for your feet according to my podiatrist!
I've not had problem with birkies farting but yes to knock offs (bought cheap pair tkmaxx -should know better) think it must be what the base is made off...

they are gorgeous i havent bought a pair thisyear as trying to kill my saltwaters!

Sleepyslops · 25/07/2018 09:05

I have saltwater and though I love them, I don't think they are doing my feet any good either!

WhoKnowsWereTheTimeG0es · 25/07/2018 16:16

I found that in order to help with my plantar fasciitis I have to do all the buckles up as tightly as possible and there is definitely a bit more farty noise and smelliness than when I was wearing them loose and flopping off my feet.

MissClarke86 · 25/07/2018 22:00

Mine are normal ones and they smell too - it’s because they just absorb all the sweat. Sticking them in a sink full of warm soapy water and giving them a scrub and air dry helps a bit.
