Tuck in or leave out

Do you tuck your top/shirt into your trousers/skirt or leave it out?

I often see people who leave them out and think how much nicer they would look with it tucked in. Especially with skirts where the cinched in waist is completely lost to a shirt that's hanging funny over the waist.

Is it just me or do people ruin nice outfits by leaving their tops out?

Obviously it does depend on the outfit.

Tucked in with a skirt, untucked with trousers. I have a big tummy, so high waisted A-line skirts with a tucked in top hides that. But I hate things tucked into trousers. Reminds me of being at school!

I can tuck shirts in to high waisted trousers/skirts, but not into anything mid- or low-waisted, as my stomach protrudes and I look cut in half. The French tuck also has this effect, sadly.

French tuck all the way.
