cross body bag destroyed by suncream

I have just bought an aurora London black Cross body bag, but I daren't start using it as my old black cross body (a small but lovely Marc Jacobs) is totally ruined by suncream.

I'm not spilling it. It must be picking it up from my arms and from my last, still suncreamed fumble for keys when I bolt out the door in the morning.

Is there a summer bag material I should swap to till September? My old bag is a total grey disgrace, but I can't bear ruining the lovely pristine new one!

Would you use a wicker bag? There are quite a few nice structured ones out at the moment!

I've been really careful today but I can see that there's bits of white sheen on my new bag. So I really need a summer alternative. These look great, thanks.

For a softer alternative, would any fabric bags wash do you think? Or white leather?
