Jumpsuit help.

I've never even considered a jumpsuit. I'm deeply untrendy and spend the vast majority of my time either in office wear or jeans and a t-shirt.

However, this jumped out at me in the shop and I figured it couldn't hurt to try it on.

I'm torn, on the one hand I like it. On the other hand, I don't. I can't decide if it's the 3/4 length trousers that feel odd or if it's because it's just not my style and maybe I'll get used to it.

What would I even wear it to?!?

Anyway - yay or nay?

I think it looks really nice!

CoperCabana · 19/07/2018 18:39

I think it’s lovely. Looks really nice and cool and comfortable. I v jealous as due to a disability I can’t wear anything like that. I think you could wear it to a summer bbq, party or wedding or dress it down with some flats or trainers for something more casual.

LokisLover · 19/07/2018 18:39

Looks ace on you. Get it

LokisLover · 19/07/2018 18:41

And you’re probably not sure because it’s outside of your comfort zone. So def get it!

LadyFlumpalot · 19/07/2018 18:44

Well that's pretty unanimous so far then! I was expecting a chorus of "get back in your un-stylish box!"

Haha, I'll have to see if it's still there when I next go past, for some reason I can't find it on the stores website.

The thing that is bothering me is the 3/4 legs, I'd probably be more comfy with it if the trouser part was longer, maybe touched the floor. I have stuck legs and I feel the wide leg cuts them off at a funny place and gives me skinny ankles.

Skinny ankles are a good thing, you daft one

It's a yay from me too

sonjadog · 19/07/2018 19:23

I like the shorter leg. I think they give a better overfall impression. Wide legges trousers that reach the floor can sometimes make the wearer look larger than they are, imo.

WilburIsSomePig · 19/07/2018 19:34

You look great. I had jumpsuit success for the first time today too - similar style to yours but with a higher neck. I'm so pleased because they can be dressed up or down so easily.

LadyFlumpalot · 19/07/2018 19:36

I'm also impressed by the cleavage it appears to have given me. I'm an A cup. Cleavage does not normally happen.

avocuddl · 19/07/2018 19:42

Hah i literally saw this today but didn't get a chance to try it on.

Glad I've seen it on you as it looks fab and has made me definitely want to go back to get it!

Unless you're wearing it to the same wedding I'm going to 😬

LadyFlumpalot · 19/07/2018 19:53

Haha @avocuddl - I'm not going to any events, was just killing time. There was only one left in the shop in my size so you are also in the Dorchester area I'll fight you for it GrinWink

Peanutbuttercups21 · 19/07/2018 19:55

Can we ask where it's from? It seems to be cut well

anonneymouse · 19/07/2018 19:59

If you want a smarter look crease the trousers. It really makes a difference.

Racecardriver · 19/07/2018 20:12

The only thing I can find wrong with it is that it doesn't go with your hair colour-is it actually that dark or just the lighting. If it is tryecti colour then I would suggest red or emerald green instead. The cut is lovely though.

ZenNudist · 19/07/2018 20:14

Looks good

LadyFlumpalot · 19/07/2018 20:27

It's a New Look item!

My hair is a sort of mix of dark blue and green at the moment but that's an ever changing thing so not so important (it's going back to brown soon).

OP posts:
LadyFlumpalot · 19/07/2018 20:36

It's frustrating me that I CANNOT FIND this on the New Look website however. I definitely stood in a New Look changing room earlier wearing it...

NotBeforeCoffee · 19/07/2018 20:42

Looks great on you!

(I wish I had skinny ankles)

Toohotme · 19/07/2018 20:45

Really lovely

WilburIsSomePig · 19/07/2018 23:04

OP mine is from New Look too - they have some lovely jumpsuits.

0range99 · 20/07/2018 09:16

Oh that is lovely.

What is the general consensus on size 18 people wearing a jumpsuit? Is it like maxi dresses where us fatties should just not go there?

CoperCabana · 20/07/2018 10:03

I have a full length jumpsuit in an 18 and I think it looks lovely. Not sure about cropped.

Tighnabruaich · 20/07/2018 10:09

My only worry with jumpsuits is if you need to go for a wee suddenly, the palaver of getting undressed in a public toilet is what puts me off. I realise it's probably a rare occurrence but I'm thinking, pub night, booze, long queue at the ladies ...
Having said that, I think it looks absolutely lovely on you.

LadyFlumpalot · 20/07/2018 10:17

Thank you everyone :) I'm having a bit of a shit time at the moment so was enjoying just spending an hour mooching round the shops yesterday. I'm really quite happy that I found something I look nice in and more importantly that others agree! It's boosted me a bit. I normally look crap in most "stylish" things.

OP posts:
sproutypotatohead · 20/07/2018 10:23

@LadyFlumpalot I think it's this one:

www.newlook.com/uk/womens/clothing/playsuits-jumpsuits/white-floral-tie-front-culotte-jumpsuit/p/589273619?comp=Browse

And agree that it looks lovely on you!
