I really want one of these lightweight packable down coats. This one is White Stuff.
Is it bad, I'm thinking nice scarf and skinny jeans and ankle boots.

Not a fan but if you like it go for it. I dont like brown and its odd being collarless.

I have a heavyweight down parka and i love it for practical reasons. Dont you think you could get a nicer mid season coat not including down? Then down winter coat.

Knittedfairies · 17/07/2018 20:30

Not keen on the neckline...( My mum had something similar, but in red. It lived on the hot water tank in the airing cupboard.)

Bejazzled · 17/07/2018 20:31

Should have explained, I have heavy coats but need a packable one for a couple of winter breaks coming up.

Dull, dull, dull

And the neckline is going to look weird with stuff sticking up out of it

ClandestineAdulation · 17/07/2018 20:33

I think it’s a good lightweight alternative and would look fine with a nice scarf as I’m not keen on the neckline!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/07/2018 20:34

I have something similar from Uniqlo but short length , no collar which is more practical for me.
I don't do thick parka or hooded coats.

I'm already scouting round for a trench coat , but I saw some nice dusky pink padded coats and thought "Oh hello" then thought "Giant prawn" Sad

imsorryiasked · 17/07/2018 20:35

I'd rather have one with a collar and/or hood - Lands End have some in the sale

Souledout · 17/07/2018 20:36

Its a bit Woodlousey. Im sure there are much nicer ones around.

Atalune · 17/07/2018 20:54

In black then yes and with a lovely lovely charcoal with a neon fine stripe through it cashmere scarf?

The colour isn’t good. Looks like a plop.

Would look better with a collar of some sort. Check out uniqulo for similar

TroubledLichen · 17/07/2018 21:00

Don’t like the lack of collar or the colour I’m afraid.

Bejazzled · 17/07/2018 21:05

Haha. Thanks everyone, I'm not buying it. I don't mind collarless and I like its not shiney but "woodlousey" and "plop" sums up the colour 😁
I shall continue my search for navy or black probably.

It’s bad, but I say fuck it, they’re all hideous and when you’ve got it on you will not give a monkeys because you’ll be so cosy! I got a montane one in the sale for cold weather running, in truly horrific very bright purple because it was £20 cheaper, and now wear it all winter every day because it’s like still being in bed.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/07/2018 21:32

Uniqlo are good (mine is dark green not woodlouse brown BTW) Wink

Almondio · 17/07/2018 21:34

I think it's practical and would be great to pack for trips, but it lacks detail like a belt/drawn in waist and a collar. The colour isn't flattering for anyone, whilst it's neutral, a navy or dark purple would be better I think.

Processedpea · 17/07/2018 21:37

It's not dull but def check out uniqlo for nicer colours and better value

TheFaerieQueene · 17/07/2018 21:40

No. Sludgy colour and weird neckline. Sorry.

PineapplePower · 17/07/2018 21:42

Isn’t this Uniqlo? They should have tons of different styles for their heat tech collection. I don’t like this particular version, has an odd collar.

You’re right though, they are amazing for packing when traveling to hotter climes or vice versa, highly recommended!
