Breastfeeding, chubby and wedding in 2 weeks!

Hi S&B experts!

I'm currently breastfeeding my 4 week old and have my best mates weddings in 2 weeks. I've gone up 2 dress sizes from a 12 to a 16. I'm 5ft5. Tum is obviously a bit flabby and boobs are bigger (and they were pretty big to start with!)

Wedding is not particularly formal.

What do you think of these?

  1. Shirt dress - easy access for boobs, and could dress up with contrasting heels and bag, maybe red or yellow? Like this as can wear again throughout the summer too (as don't have many clothes that fit me at the min)
  1. An actual nursing dress from h&m. Don't have any other parties coming up that I could wear this for but obviously I can breastfeed easily in it which is a plus!
  1. Skirt and not this top, but maybe a white sleeveless blouse, tucked in?

Any ideas/advice? Help!

Helpfully photos are back to front, though you've probably worked that out!

I’d go for the nursing dress if I were you. I wore mine for months whilst my little girl was feeding regularly so the nursing clothes were money well spent for me. I also went from a 12 to a 16 both pregnancies - it’ll go when it goes! Enjoy the wedding.

H&M one Smile

I'd go for the nursing one too. I've never got on with buttons and breastfeeding - it's just too much of a faff - especially in a room full of people.

To be honest if it was me I think I'd order loads of options and test them at home to see which one I'm most comfortable in.

Nursing dress - the nicest and it’ll fit the best

I would get the shirt dress as you're more likely to wear it again. Maybe wear a v thin vest/camisole underneath then you can unbutton without flashing then just pull the vest top up which saves exposing the whole boob. Unless you don't care obvs! 😃

Number two is my favourite. It's the most weddingy and will be practical for bf.

Thanks guys - I've ordered the H&M one. I would love to order a load but not very cash rich at the mo and so don't have a lot in the bank. The model is very thin and I think that I may look a bit round in it. I'll post a pic when it arrives and ask what you lot think! 😊

For a wedding I would wear nursing clothes too. I wear all sorts to breastfeed but if I am ever out with a lot of company I find proper nursing clothes the most discreet and feel the most comfortable.
There’s a brand called mothers en vogue which does nice nursing dresses. I think I got from a sight called Izzy’s mum x
