Hi - anyone any idea how to clean a mucky Kipling bag. It is the Cyrille - so a canvas type material (I think). I tried baby wipes but it did not do much.

TIA

Ooh interested in this my kipling netta bag needs a wash it’s canvas as well....I was gonna chuck it in the washing machine on a cold wash and hope for the best

Harriedgymmum · 15/07/2018 16:25

I have washed several in the washing machine on a cold, quick wash at low spin. They've come out clean and are fine.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/07/2018 16:47

I wash my Kipling bags in the machine
Take off the monkey (if you havent already done so Grin )
I haven't washed the strap but I would if it was mucky.

I turn mine inside out (double check all the pokets for rubbish or a forgotten £10) and put in a laundry bag in case any zip fasteners get lost in the machine.
Cool wash ,

Mine have always turned out lovely .

I love the things you find out on mn
I have a Kipling bag that’s looking a bit grubby- never occurred to me to put it in the machine Blush

Oopsy41 · 15/07/2018 16:55

I put all mine in the machine, always come out great

Etymology23 · 15/07/2018 16:56

I too put mine in the machine, cool wash, low spin. Had one about 15 years and still looks like it did when I bought it.

Nanasueathome · 15/07/2018 16:57

Yep, washing machine

Deathraystare · 17/07/2018 14:15

Thanks so much lovely ladies! Sorry for the delay but I am not on the 'net at home so had to wait until I was next in work.

I will definitely try this (and take the plastic monkey off first!

Mine go in the machine too. I just wish I could dye the bloody thing!

Toofle · 09/10/2018 21:09

I dyed one. It came out fine.

BigFatBloomers · 10/10/2018 02:11

Was it in the usual nylon material or a canvas one Toofle?
I have one i've been thinking about dyeing for years but never braved it.

It's very pink.

LellyMcKelly · 10/10/2018 03:39

I bunged mine in the laundry, monkey, straps and all, 40 degrees and a 1600rpm spin. It came out like new.

Toofle · 10/10/2018 10:08

BFB, you have nothing to lose but your fear. The one I dyed is older and normal nylon. It was a mauvy colour and I dyed it pink, in the machine. Not glamorous I admit. But better than before.

Hi all, just found this thread and it gave me the confidence to wash my second hand Kipling bag (stunk of smoke and what I can only describe as a 'festival'!)
It's a Seoul laptop bag, brought for £10! I washed it on a 15 min wash, 400 spin and used 'the pink stuff' to wash it with. It came out amazing, just like new.

Veenessar · 07/08/2022 10:01

My photo didn't attach, but here's the Seoul backpack after washing. Smells beautiful now :D

Thanks guys. I've had a little pot of ketchup burst in my poor handbag. It's lovely to get all of you great responses and advice on here regarding my kippling handbag. You are all 🌟 x

Washing machine with bio detergent at 20 degrees and some towels to balance the machine.
