  1. yesterday I severely miscalculated the distance for an appointment in a town I'd never been to before, it was half hours walk from the train station instead of the 5 minutes I'd thought. I'd put on a little foundation on the centre panel but when I got there on time and went to the loo I looked like mottled strawberries and clotted cream. I hastily smoothed out any foundation and went with strawberries (it was due to frantic power trotting in the heat).

  2. today I put on more makeup than usual and my friend said 'I don't usually see you in colour', it was a soft blue top and sage green skirt. It was the make up which confused her.

I'm going back to neutral!

Can't be just me?

I’m currently in a makeup quandary. I am of a certain age too.
So, having gained three stone in weight and all the utter joy attached to that, a penchant for hotties at any moment and a wonky face, which in all fairness, I’ve always had, but has become more apparent (in my opinion) - I’m loving life with regards to all things style and beauty.
My lovely sister in law let me test her IT cosmetics, which I thought looked the 🐝’s knees and duly ordered. Fast forward to casually looking in the car mirror and thinking I too, look Babs Cartland-ish.
I don’t think it’s the brand, more my inability to apply correctly.....
