Please help this S&B failure look good on her wedding day

I’m a self-confessed failure at all things S&B, as is the rest of my family.

I’d really like to look amazing for my partner on our wedding day but really need some help. Wedding is in September so I’ve got time but not loads. I’m early 30’s.

I bought a dress a few months ago that I thought suited my shape: I’m small on top, narrow waist but fairly big hips. The dress is fitted to just below the hips with a big fishtail skirt and although it’s really flattering on my top half, I’m worried it’s going to make my hips look HUGE.

I’ve got a belt for the waist which improved things slightly, but no other accessories. Can I have advice on anything I could wear to draw attention away? I’ve been looking back at the photos from the fitting (admittedly they’re not great pictures) and feeling a bit sick.

I’ve already booked a very good hair and makeup person for the day so any hairstyle suggestions would also be helpful I’ve no idea what to ask for. Hair is long, dead straight and thick but fine.

can you post one of the photos?

The best advice is make sure you look like yourself.
So if you normally have your hair very simple, eg long ponytail down your back, then keep to that shape, maybe a French plait, with a few loose strands etc.
Don't go for a complicated up do, if it isn't 'you'
