3rd lobe piercing

I had my 2nd lobe piercings last week and these are healing well. I've got the bug now and really want my 3rd lobe piercings too - I can't wait to wear those cute sets of little mismatched studs once they're all healed. Anyway I wondered whether it was ok to have my 3rd lobe piercings this weekend when my 2nd will only have been done a week previous? I wasn't sure whether it affected the infection risk or anything?

I would ask whoever did your second piercing. I have one lobe piercing and I am considering getting two and three done at the same time. I can't see how it would make any difference myself.

I'd leave it until the swelling is completely gone. I had my 2nd and 3rd lobe piercings done at the same time and the 3rd piercing on my left ear was pierced way too close to my 2nd one. After a week my whole left lobe completely swelled up, which resulted in my 3rd earring nearly completely sunken in my lobe. Very painful to get it out and I never bother putting earrings in the 3rd holes now anyway.

Have you got any helix piercings? They always look nice and have been by far the easiest out of all of my piercings(15) in terms of healing and aftercare.

I had my second lobe piercings (x2) done in Feb - like you, I immediately caught the bug and wanted to get my third piercings asap. My piercer advised me to let the first two heal first and see how my body reacted. This was probably also because it was the first piercing I'd had done in years (my original lobe piercings were circa 20 years ago).

I'm now coming up to six months post-piercing -- luckily I didn't get any infections but one of the two lobes took a little longer to heal than the other (I probably got a little over-excited and removed the original earrings too quickly!) but both are now relatively stable so I'm starting to think about that third piercing again.

I'd say ask your piercer what they think - they will know how best to advise you depending on how your healing is going. It's hard being patient (I know!) but may be better in the long-run.
