Do you take the tags off bags?

Just got my lovely new Coach bag - do I take this ugly tag off (and if so, how?)

I take tags off everything. That one will come off - the little chain is joined with a linking piece of metal. Just squeeze the chain together (on the side with the hole in the linking piece) and the chain should pop out. Hope that makes sense - my brain’s a bit frazzled and I can’t think how else to explain how to do it!

I normally remove. On the gold chain part they is a barrel shaped bead thing. You will see a hole in it. Push thr chain upwards and it will pop out the hole.

I particularly can't stand those fucking Radley doggy tags left on.

Don't try to push it while it's all in a straight line, sort of make the join piece like the top of a bridge between the two ends of the chain and push the vertical chains together into the middle. Then one should pop out.

If you understand those terrible instructions you can manage anything

Maybe Coach ones are sturdier than the usual keyring kind

You have to slide the thin bit of the chain along the little slit.

I take them off, but why do they put them on bags in the first place?

I leave them on mostly. I like something to fiddle with.

Take them off, they're so irritating. Some good instructions above, just try to squeeze the thin bit along the slot. When it gets to the barrel it should lift out. Or get some pliers and prize the chain out!!

I have that bag and have taken the tag off (I think I cut it in the end). I've had the bag for a few years and it looks like new. It's a great buy.

I always take them off, but I just realised I'd left it on my new bag (which is a coach). In my defence, I only stated using it on Monday.

Those chains are a standard mechanism . You just move the chain to the thin bit and it pushes out . Easy 🤷‍♀️

I've been looking for a hobo style bag - I may just have to purchase! What's the leather like? I usually prefer hobos to be slouchy but that looks quite structured.

This is interesting, I've never really thought about it before! I have 2 bags with tags and I've never removed them but they are much more substantial than that tag (made of leather). For instance I've been using this for the last few weeks: Marc Jacobs and not removed the tag.
