Gahh help please! Stripy highlights

Had hair done today, usual hairdresser, same colours but I look like a blooming tiger this time - they're all really standing out against each other at the roots and look so stark. Obviously I should have had a toner but I didn't notice in the hairdresser. I now don't have time to go back this week but need to sort it out at home if possible before the weekend.

Help please! Does anyone have tried and tested methods to fade colour - at this point I don't care if it strips all the colour away. Fairy liquid? head and shoulders? Do they work and if not, anything else?

Silver shampoo?

Tried to provoke from supermarket but if you have a salon services or sallys or can order online try osmo. Its amazing.

You can't fade bleach. You can try a toner but you should go back and explain that you're not happy.

Depends what colours are there,if blonde highlights fairy liquid or head and shoulders. wont do anything,
If dark hair dye it might fade it a bit,but you dont say what colours
Sorry cant be more help

Get a purple toning shampoo, it should make them look a bit more muted.

Ok yes there is bleach in there, and of course I'm being dense thinking one can fade bleach away. I have purple shampoo - the provoke one so I'll try a few washes of that - I looked at the osmo one online hopskip but got a bit scared by the intensely silver hair people were posting pictures of in the amazon reviews

I had the same problem with stripey highlights, bleach and "caramel".
Used provoke and it definitely helped tone down the whole situation. Applied to dry hair and left for 1 hour. I did it twice in two weeks and was much better. I don't think it does much when used as a normal shampoo.

Times thank you - yes those are the colours I have in, I'll try your suggestion!

Right so I've used a ton of purple shampoo and it's done precisely sod all.

If I can find the time to get to the hairdresser tomorrow - can they do anything? What should I ask them to do? I assume I can't dye back to my base colour over a bleach highlight, or can I? Please lovely people help me again!

If it's stripey then you need some lowlights to blend the blonde into your own colour. Get a toner as well.

Jasquers · 11/07/2018 21:15

How did your hair appt go today?

makingtime · 11/07/2018 23:51

So glad I went! I hate complaining about things but I put my brave pants on. The salon owner sorted it out by putting a load of very fine highlights in among the tiger stripes. It's toned it down made it look much more natural - 100% better. She clearly thought the original colour was a terrible job too as she gave me a voucher for a free head of foils - happy with that! Perhaps will book her instead next time...
