What fashion trends do you think this decade will be remembered for?

I was thinking about this the other night.
My ideas were rose gold and holographic stuff everywhere, highlighter, interesting nail polishes (matte, magnetic, crackle, etc,) nude lipstick, especially that peculiar greige shade, and neons.
Anything else?

Cold shoulder (hate it and the name, but it's pretty distinctive)

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 09/07/2018 20:55

Huge big over done eyebrows
Lip fillers
Pouty selfies with dog ears app
Yes to rose gold it’s ubiquitous
Mermaid coloured hair

Swearwolf · 09/07/2018 20:56

I think often it's about the shape. It'll be big boxy top halves and twiggy wee legs.

Annabelle4 · 09/07/2018 20:58

EYEBROWS Shock

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 09/07/2018 20:59

Giant eyebrows, trout pouts and contouring.

Nuffaluff · 09/07/2018 21:00

Definitely the eyebrows, but not in a good way.
Also contouring, but again, not in a good way.
Eventually there will be a move back to more natural make up looks and everyone will point and laugh back to the past. Then it will come around full circle again.
Maybe even Botox will go out of fashion.

PatchworkElmer · 09/07/2018 21:01

Eyebrows and bums!!

Rednaxela · 09/07/2018 21:01

Tiny high waisted shorts that are cut above the bum cheek. Envy not envy

Horrible bleached hair extensions

BikeRunSki · 09/07/2018 21:02

Caterpillar eyebrows

Skinny jeans. I got my first pair when I started wearing non-maternity clothes after dd was born in 2011.

CoffeeOrSleep · 09/07/2018 21:02

eyebrows. All the eyebrows.

Bad contouring, fake eyelashes, sharpie style eyebrows. I think generally the "drag queen asthetic" for make up - we're already beginning to see more "natural" looks as different and skincare over makeup, I can see a younger generation going all shiny faced and the heavy make up look looking dated in a couple of years.

Clothes wise - high waisted clothing, particularly jeans

the leggings as trousers with a crop top look - generally gym clothes as day clothes.

Shoulders - bardot tops, cold shoulder tops, asymetical/one shoulder tops/jumpes - shoulders have been a feature for a few years and widely worn (whereas other 'key fashions' like statement sleeves haven't really grabbed the mainstream).

Skater skirt shape.

Hair wise; pastel and grey hair. 'beachy waves' or bouncy blow dries.

Freshprincess · 09/07/2018 21:06

Definitely the make up. It’s so extreme it’s like stage make up. Looks great in photos but in real life it’s way too much.

And for boys the beards.

Mind you I looked a right state back in the day (goth) so I’ve no room to talk.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 09/07/2018 21:16

Excess of bling,of. Make up,ghastly contouring like silver stripes
Bronzer
Flat matte lipsticks
Fad diets like apple vinegar
Bad science made up nutritional advice from deranged gym bunnies

SapphireSeptember · 09/07/2018 21:17

How could I forget the eyebrows and contouring? Grin And there's the ubiquitous smoky eye, done in warm toned nudes. (Probably because I don't do any of it.) I'm glad my eyebrows are fashionable though.

Wayne goss videos
Perez Hilton
The Kardashian’s
Argan oil, it came from nowhere to be in everything. Hand cream, shampoo, serum

Ummmmgogo · 09/07/2018 21:20

I think man buns, hipster beards, grey hair and eyebrows will be remembered

CoffeeOrSleep · 09/07/2018 21:21

oh yes, skinny jeans, been wearing them since about 2008/9, and are beginning to be talked about as not the fashionable style, so I reckon given it another couple of years and we'll think they look dated.

Hair extentions - forgot those too! It's all part of the very fake look that will look bad quickly.

tobee · 09/07/2018 21:27

Yes to cold shoulders, plus Bardot tops and gathered, ruffly bits in unnecessary areas.

Coffee I think skinny jeans have been dead in the water, fashion-wise, for about four years, maybe five. Cropped wide legs/culottes have been the trouser shape for quite a while. Fashion people are wearing straight leg and wide leg jeans.

I think culottes will be a thing we look back on. In terms of shapes I think we'll remember tunic-leggings (those will be the flares of this decade), boxy top-skinny jeans, high waist-cropped turtle neck as the trouser shapes of this decade. And then cropped wide-leg/culotte with fitted, tucked in top.

SapphireSeptember · 09/07/2018 21:39

Another thing I've thought of is the metallic/matte metallic lipstick trend. And the trend for retro fashion, there seems to be a lot of harking back to the 1940s and 50s. On a personal level I'm more aware of make up trends than I am of clothing, because I have my own style that I stick to.

Whatever we think now, time will cast a different spin on it. I think it will be about the eyebrows which will soon look extremely dated.
As will heavy contouring. I predict it will soon be about looking great in real life, real situations and being grounded in normality, and then it will veer off again.

Niminy · 09/07/2018 21:40

Oh, and midi skirts. They've been in for years now.

snowsun · 09/07/2018 21:44

Oompah lumpa shade of fake tan.

Eyebrows.

Puffy lips.

Over the top makeup.

Cold shoulder tops.

Fake boobs and bum implants.

butlerswharf · 09/07/2018 21:48

HD brows. Everything else will fade from our memories but no one will forget the brows!

NigellasGuest · 09/07/2018 21:48

Floral blouses
Assymetric hems
Nude court shoes
