Help dress me, huge weight gain

We’re going to stay with MIL for a week in August, she lives in Bournemouth so obviously the weather can be a bit hit and miss.

I’ve gone up to a size 20/22 from a combination of things, taking a certain medication being one and issues with my abdomen, this is where I carry the weight. I also have big boobs double HH cup and always wear a bra and I’m short around 5ft 1. I also have mobility issues and always walk with a stick and occasionally use a wheelchair.

I have huge issues with anxiety and so do not go out of the house very often so my wardrobe consists of 4/5 t-shirts, a pair of jeans, leggings and two pairs of harem trousers. I have just finished a course of therapy and this break is kind of arranged on the back of this.

I wear a lot of dark colours mainly grey and black - even before the weight gain and lean towards goth style but I do like some what I would call girly stuff. I like a lot of the flowery dresses, long gypsy skirts but I’m guessing that I wouldn’t feel ‘right’ in them.

I’m looking for 2 or 3 outfits/dresses/skirts/trousers that I can wear should I feel up to going out in the evening. I don’t want to be able to use the but I have nothing to wear excuse.

So to sum me up! I’m 5ft 1, size 20/22, carry all my weight around my front, have no bum and short legs.

If anyone has any ideas they would be gratefully received.

(Sorry this ended up an essay)

Sorry should have also said because of the issues with my abdomen I don’t wear anything that sits below my bellybutton.

These trousers from M&S are lovely OP. They do them in blue, black and like a khaki colour. So incredibly comfortable, and a variety of leg lengths. I am 5 foot 1 and I bought them in a short. I know that your size isn't in stock online but you might get them in store.

I wear them with plain t-shirts the same colour as the trousers and sandals.

Thank you, I have been looking at this style.

dress
I bought this recently. I'm size 18 5'2 and it's lovely.

Bumbumtaloo · 09/07/2018 16:34

Thank you, I love the dress and have been looking at that style. Does the belt/pull bit sit under the boobs? And not cut you in half if you know what I mean?

How about this maxi dress:

I've just discovered this website
www.ladyvlondon.com/lyra-dress-navy-forest

They have plus sizes and if you put in your measurements it will tell you what size to order.

I don't usually wear dresses but these are so comfortable and actually cover my giant bra (34JJ).

Pinkkahori · 09/07/2018 16:58

The elastic is definitely higher than waist level and the top is quite loose fitted so you can adjust it according to whats comfortable.
I'm thinking of ordering more colours because it's such a useful dress to have.

Loads of cool alt stuff here, op. www.emp.co.uk/plus-size/women/

It's flipping boiling in Bournemouth at the moment just saying! 😁 Boohoo have some great bits in... I love these I have the grey one and black and they are fab either day time with sandals or pumps and go right through to evening. They do a plus range too. Enjoy your holiday x

Bumbumtaloo · 09/07/2018 21:29

Thank you, hadn’t thought of Boohoo. We’re not going until 18th August so I’m guessing anything can happen between now and then Grin

@Pinkkahori I noticed this morning that the dress that you linked above has a couple of colours in the sale.

Thanks Bumbum. I'll have a look.

I think a wrap dress or top whill be very flattering on you

Kaz2200 · 16/07/2018 13:59

Mantaray - Blue check cotton short sleeve tunic dress

Just bought this from Debenham it is really flattering and not as short as I am only 5'2

Bumbumtaloo · 16/07/2018 18:23

No worries Pinkkahori I’ve ordered it in black, just waiting for it to arrive and then I might brave the other colours.

Thanks 3stonedown and Kaz2200

I highly recommend any of the M&S linen trousers (loads online). They are massively comfortable. Wear them with a nice cotton shirt and sparkly flip flops - job done!
