Closed toe sandals

I have horrible runners feet but would like some nice flat sandals. Am finding it hard to find any stylish ones. There are some nice ones on New Look but they have not the greatest reviews.

Has anyone had any luck finding something similar? The others ones I have found are on for sale in the States....

I've got some Palmairas this year following a recommendation on here. They aren't completely closed toe but you can't see any of the toes. They are really comfy. I would thoroughly recommend them!

Ollivander84 · 09/07/2018 12:22

I also have palmairas and adore them

DustandRubble · 09/07/2018 12:27

How wide are palmairas? I also need closed toe sandals but I have wide feet which makes it even harder.

HalleLouja · 09/07/2018 12:28

I too have wide feet. I think I prefer the more woven type sandals than the Palmairas. But will have a proper look later.

I usually buy wide fit shoes but bought my normal size and they were fine.

olderthanyouthink · 09/07/2018 13:35

Placemarking! I need some new ones, don't like the state of my toes and nails Sad

I have some Steve Madden ones from a few years ago but they've seen better days.

putonyourdancingshoes · 09/07/2018 13:48

Oooohhh I've just checked out the Palmairas. Usually just buy my sandals etc from primark as we barely get the weather to wear them but oh my goodness there are some lovely ones on there! Which ones did you all get?

Ollivander84 · 09/07/2018 13:52

I have the leopard neon ones and the grey

putonyourdancingshoes · 09/07/2018 13:56

The leopard ones were what I was looking at @Ollivander84. Although I'm a bit boring and tend to go for neutral colours so I can wear them with anything! I also like some of the lowform ones too.

Hi, these aren't the style you've asked for but I dislike my feet and recently discovered menorcan style sandals. They look like proper grandad clod hoppers off the peg and I'd never look twice at them but a friend of mine (young!) got some and they looked really quite cool and summery. Cover most of the foot but feel very light on. I now seem to live in mine and they're SO comfortable and easy to wear! Just a suggestion if the gladiator search doesn't bear fruit!

HalleLouja · 09/07/2018 14:07

@shirleyschmidt I have found these on ebay. Might be worth a go. Though I still prefer the more woven ones...

@HalleLouja totally get why you'd prefer them, I'm in my early 30s and think the menorcan ones look very frumpty dumpty off the foot, and would have disregarded them completely if it weren't for seeing a friend in them. All I can tell you as someone who hates to have my feet on show, is they are so light, comfy and easy to wear! Mine are from Sole Trader but Next sells them in stores atm so defo try before you buy.

TodoDoingDone · 09/07/2018 15:52

I've got wide feet and the Menorcan ones are OK, but not brilliant. Here are some others I've found and trying to decide.

Fitflops are a bit closed.

Pikolinos have beautiful sandals but the closed toe ones are so ugly--why, oh why? These are the only ones I might consider getting but not convinced www.amazon.co.uk/Pikolinos-Womens-Vallarta-Ankle-Sandals/dp/B0752NNFWR/ref=mp_s_a_1_93?ref=plSrch&keywords=closed+toe+sandals+women&dpPl=1&dpID=51wMaSO2zNL&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1531147578&sr=8-93

El naturalista also has some closed toe ones (on Amazon too)

There is a New Look near my work. I will see if the ones I like are in there to try. They do normally make nice shoes.

I think prior years had more in the style I am after. Just not this year. Confused

Bumping to see if anyone else has any ideas? Not much luck here.

The woven ones are called fisherman sandals but you get a hideous array of Dad shoes if you try and google that.

Not entirely what you want but Boden have smart flat sandals that cover the toe (very work appropriate): Evie.

HalleLouja · 12/07/2018 16:18

Not quite what I am after but think I might go with these Pikolinos in tan. Though they don't seem to have my size in stock.

I actually saw these in New Look and bought them. Think they tick most of the boxes.
