General fashion help - dressing less frumpy

Got myself into a bit of a rut after a bad relationship and found I was always dressing frumpy and wearing dull, plain colours etc. I am trying to get myself out of said rut now and would like some nice more age appropriate (30's rather than 60's) outfits for summer. I have picked up a couple of summer dresses in the sales but am looking for some help and inspiration. Where are the best places to look? Am I too short for the 3/4 length jumpsuits (5.3)

For me frumpy is not age related. It is it is attitude and wearing Ill fitting clothing in safe colours with a helmet cut. I got imho a great dress from &otherstories it is orange pineapple print.

Get yourself a tape measure, work out your shape and then order fun stuff to try.

What shape are you? what style do you like? How about finding a celeb you like and looking on their instagram for inspiration, they often tag outfits. I am mid 30s and I like cos, arket, &other stories, H&M and some bits in Monki.

Thanks for the replies. I am size 8 but have boobs and a butt! I always go for the safe colours but am really trying to step out of my comfort zone,. I see some lovely tea dresses, jumpsuits etc on people but when I try them I just look dumpy!

Forget dress sizes. Get a tape measure and measure properly. Then you can use that to work out shape. By knowing your shape it is easier and quicker to choose new outfits. Cloth tape measures can be picked up easily.
