Styling layered necklaces

I'm hankering after layered necklaces at the mo. And stacked rings tbh.
What's the best way to style them?
All the same metal?
Themed pendants?
I haven't got much of a clue...

For necklaces, I usually stick to the same metal and stack three necklaces of different lengths (two short and one pendant length). I love a mix of rose gold and silver on other people but it doesn't work for me. I also like stacking multiple Monica Vinader charms on a single long thickish chain.

Thanks for this. I would not have thought of rose gold and silver together. That's a great idea!

I tend to stick with silver necklaces, but mixing metals can look lovely. I like to have a fabric chocker and a longer necklace and I do like to have a "theme" with the pendants I put on (like sea, flowers, magic etc) and am willing to put more than one pendant on the same chain if it looks good.
I mix rings of all colour metals, but try to keep the stones of similar or complementary colours, and again have a theme. Wishbone and midi rings are really good for stacking.
