Prickly heat - anybody used Soltan Quick Dry Protect?

Last year, after suffering from prickly heat on holiday for years, I tried using Soltan Dry Touch after it was recommended on here. Worked a treat.

Now Boots appear to have discontinued it

It looks like Quick Dry Protect is the replacement product. Has anybody used it and avoided prickly heat? Or have you any other recommended suncream products?

I found the superdrug or boots factor 30 cream good - seems worse if I use 50?!
Mine is the sunlight thingy rather than prickly heat mind.

I'm not quite sure how you tell whether it's the sunlight or prickly heat? I've used Soltan for years and had the problem (although only where I was in really hot, sunny places but not when it was sunny in the UK), used Dry Touch last year with absolutely no problem whatsoever.

i get the light thing (PLE) and prickly heat, I use Soltan Baby and never have a reaction

I have prickly heat and Polymorphic Light Eruption (basically an allergy to sunlight) I've found that a daily antihistamine and Ambre Solaire Transparent spray Work a treat for me and I never have any problems. A chemist in France once advised putting roll
on antiperspirant on the affected area, let it
dry and then apply the sun spray. That helped too.

Ultra sun sensitive works for me, otherwise my chest and arms flare up

P20 - amazing stuff. It's costly & I find it a bit oily but I haven't had PLE since I started using it, which is years ago now.

I have tried P20 in the past, and it didn't cause the flare ups, but I didn't think it gave me enough sun protection. I suppose the antiperspirant works because prickly heat is caused by the sweat glands becoming blocked.

Whilst it's hot here just now, and I'm in and out of the sun all day, I don't sweat like I do on holiday, so even if I was to buy something to try now, my body won't be doing what it does on holiday.

I had a terrible time with prickly heat in Spain once. I ended up sitting in a bath of ice water it was so bad.

When I got home I went to the drs and he said that if you get prickly heat it can be exacerbated by "normal" suncream and to try the once a day ones like P20, as they are a different formulation.

I now use ultra sun and have never had prickly heat again!

P20 here! The formulation changed a couple of ears ago to increase protection so worth a try?

I wouldn't advise using any soltan products. My soltan factor 50 is being tested because I burnt through it. I was in agony. Avoid soltan at all costs.

Read every bottle and get one without "parabens", methyl, ethyl, they hide them. Just because the factor 20 in a particular brand hasn't got it, doesn't mean the factor 30 won't. And same with aftersun, deodorant, shower gel. My aunt suffered for years, and hasn't had prickly heat since she learned this. I have the same fair skin as her, I suffered awfully in my first hol because I didn't know. I've never suffered since. Good luck!

My Dd gets awful prickly heat. We were recommended a Clinique one. I can’t remember the name but it is for sensitive skins. It works a treat!

I get PMLE and use the Eucerin Sun Allergy spf 50 - works great for me :-)

Those of you who have PMLE, does it show up every time you're in the sun with suncream on, or is it only when you're somewhere really hot?

Mine only appeared when abroad in hot places. Mind you, I live on the West Coast of Scotland so hot sunny weather like we're having now is a bit of a rarity 😉
