Compact powder-foundation recommendations please

In this heat I am down to the idea of using a compact foundation for the first time. No idea where to start. I like fairly full, matte coverage. Thanks if anyone can recommend one.

MAC Studio Fix compact foundation applied with a big powder brush works for me.

I love Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder. It has a little grinder which dispenses a small amount of loose powder into the pot. It has a really nice finish and doesn't sit in your creases. You can normally pick it up online for less than it costs in Boots and department stores.

Thanks cointreau, I don't spose you know how the colours come up do you? As in are they darker in rl than onscreen?

Nyx stay matte not flat, is amazing. I have rosacea and it's great coverage.

The MAC one PP recommended is full, matte coverage (which is why I hated it ha ha!) but it did exactly what it said on the tin. However powder foundations can look really crap in the heat if you sweat/glow even a little bit, personally I’d choose a really good powder and primer to go with whatever you wear at the moment. I’d recommend the hourglass loose powder, it’s been a godsend in the heat for me.

Got a kiko one which am using for work top ups in the heat. Top ups only though and with a primer as pp said - think it would be too much if used all over first thing

I’m a big fan of the Benefit Hello Flawless. In summer I just sweep over sunscreen and it gives a nice even but natural finish. Mac Studio Fix is sadly not for me, it’s very full coverage and didn’t sit very well on my skin. Definitely try before you buy!

Thanks very much
