Last Tuesday I got my hair coloured at Toni and Guy. Does anyone know what brand / range they use for hair colourants? As I’d like to buy it myself and give my hair a refresh but I’m not sure what exactly my stylist used...

Basically he tinted my roots with a Level 7 colour mixed 50% with a very Ash Hi lift tint. He then put a toner through the rest of my light brown hair as it was becoming warm. I paid £115. It looked perfect when I left the salon.

A week later, my old roots are a warm brown, but there is a distinct difference between where the roots end and my previous colour begins. He said he would blend the root tint through, but now it looks more like a demarcation line. The rest of my hair honestly looks shit, the toner has faded off and now I have random sections of blonde/light brown/medium brown. The lighter hair begins directly after the brown roots so it looks naff. Would post a photo but I’m genuinely embarrassed and just want to put the level 7 brown on all over to rescue my hair.

Oooh, OP, I am sorry to hear about that. I haven't got any advice on how to "rescue" it, but it might be worth phoning the salon to explain the situation and asking exactly what it was that they used.

If it looked perfect when you left the salon, I am wondering if you use a shampoo that strips hair dye. I have done that before and it's infuriating because generally the bottles don't say "not suitable for coloured hair" which is ridiculous when so many of us colour our hair.

Good luck.
