Hair breakage urgent help needed!

I desperately want to grow my hair a bit longer. It’s quite tricky hair, prone to dryness and frizz. The problem is with the top section which just won’t grow longer than about 3ins. The underneath layers are a slightly different texture and would happily grow long but then I’d look like a bay city roller with the short top section Sad. What can I do? This is not a recent problem I’ve been trying to grow that section of hair for about 10 years! It did grow when I was younger strangely enough and the section which doesn’t grow is greyer (albeit coloured) than the underneath sections. Any ideas how I can strengthen my hair please?

Hello OP, my sister has had the same problem in the past - both when she became underweight and when she was in her first trimester - the thicker wirey strands underneath were strong but the finder top sections began splitting. She put it down to two things - so it was likely hormones or nutritional issues for her. - it sounds slightly ridiculous, but have you tried taking cod liver oil tablets?

Thank you, I haven’t tried cod liver oil but that is something I can easily try - did it improve your sister’s hair?

Yes - but not the time she was pregnant (I don't think you can take it if you're pregnant). Oh and another one was starflower oil (might also be worth checking out?). I'm a great believer in homeopathy - even if you don't see immediate results in your hair, they're good supplements to take!
