Hi, I have dyed my hair from a brassy blonde (lovely before this hot weather!) to a light brown and although its not dreadful- it’s too warm and looks auburn in the sun.
Is there anything I can put in it to tone it down. I am going on holiday on Friday cannot get a hairdresser appointment and wondered if there was a semi permanent colour I could cover it with until I get back?

This is me! Help us.

I've tried the bright blue shampoo from Charles worthington but it's still too warm with auburn tones. Any ideas welcomed

Anyone?

Try using an anti dandruff shampoo. Wash your hair and leave the lather on for about 10 minutes - or longer if possible - before rinsing off. Apparently there's something in this type of shampoo which strips the colour from your hair.

I had a horrendous home hair dye experience years ago, and had to phone the helpline number on the packaging and this is what they advised me. I was washing my hair 2 or 3 times a day to try and get the dye out - it really did work.

(Might not be what you want though if you just want to tone down the colour. As I said, it was years ago so maybe the dandruff shampoos aren't quite as harsh now as they were then!)

By no means an expert but think an ash Brown will cancel out the warm?

BusterGonad · 05/07/2018 22:07

Ash brown cancels out orange tones, John Frieda do a mousse ash brown. It actually has ash in the name.

I here's one of them, I think they do a darker one too but I could be wrong.
