Double wear allergy

I think I'm allergic to Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light and I'm gutted as it gives fantastic coverage. I can wear it once in a while without a problem but wearing it two or three times in a week brings me out in itchy, scaly patches. I also can't seem to find a list of ingredients to check what I could be reacting to. Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone recommend a foundation that gives good coverage for dry, mature skin?

I am allergic to it, YSL Teinte Eclat and many long wear foundations. Also powder foundations. I break out it many scaly itchy/sore bumps, especially round cheekbone area.

I did wonder if it was mica allergy but I can wear some highlighters ok (although I would only wear them occasionally for a few hours not all day every day). Seem to be fine with Chanel though, maybe have a look at their stuff (or Bourjois for similar but cheaper) - Mac is hit and miss and the Lancome one I had did the same. I am sure it's things that are glowy and or long wearing

Thanks GayParee. I have never reacted to make-up before and you might have hit the nail on the head with the long wearing stuff being more prone to reaction. Shame as it's wonderful stuff!

I toohave had an allergic reaction to Estee Lauder doublewear light. Stingy skin, red blotches and puffy eyes.

I reacted to it too. Now using Catrice HD foundation, it's fantastic and really cheap too! You can build it up to whatever coverage you like. I bought it after seeing it being recommended.

I’ve never reacted to a foundation but also never tried double wear light. I do however react in the way you’ve described to Urban Decay eyeshadow primer (but that should be another thread).
Regarding the foundation, I’ve recently had the epiphany that I now need something lighter for my maturing skin and have been using Mac face and body foundation for a couple of months. Rather taken with it too. The great thing about Mac is that you can ask for a sample pot that will give you a weeks worth of product to try.
