Can we talk about nose hairs?

Gross I know, but ive never ever been one for doing anything about them, after chatting to friends at the weekend who mentioned they go to have them waxed I kept quiet thinking god im a freak I never do that.

Now im wondering if its weird or normal to have them waxed? im at a loss as to how even you would do this?

fwiw I wax my bikini, upper lip, under arms and chin but the thought of doing something with nose hair has me puzzled? what are the alternatives or do you even bother?

Well do you have nose hair? I'm sure I do but I can't see it so I don't do anything to it!

Pinkvici22 · 03/07/2018 22:01

Home wax or pluck here Blush

motortroll · 03/07/2018 22:02

Do their nose hairs hang out of their noses??!!

I can't think why you'd put yourself through that pain for hair you can't even see!!

Are they winding you up? I've never heard of this!

No don't do it, pain did no reason and nose hairs play an actual function so there's a good reason not to!

nothingwittyhere · 04/07/2018 09:34

Just trim carefully with scissors if they are visible!

legolimb · 04/07/2018 09:42

On an episode of TRHOC Kyle and Kim had the noise hairs waxed.

The beautiful put some was up the nostrils and then yanked it out.

I prefer a pair of sharp pointy scissors.

AnaViaSalamanca · 04/07/2018 09:47

there are nose hair trimmers you can buy on amazon, or at boots, in the men's section (obviously women don't have nosehair!!!!)

I have one from philips that does the job quite well.

lizzlebizzle33 · 04/07/2018 09:50

No way!!! Just leave them, or trim them if they're visible? You need nose hairs!x

buddahbelly · 04/07/2018 11:35

Ok, first off im glad im not the only one to question leaving them be, I think I may be more paranoid as I can see them now they've been mentioned.

Whoever said they have them waxed wasn't joking, I looked on youtube this morning, its almost like a cotton bud with wax going up you nose, they let it set them yank them out. I could not think of anything more painful!

Ill use a trimmer though if I need to.

Whatever you do, do not try tweezing them!

MargoLovebutter · 04/07/2018 11:50

I wax my nose hairs. I talc up my nose first, cut a section of wax strip, push it up my nose to get the hairs, press it down & then rip as upwardly as I am able to. Hurts like fuck and makes me cry, but I'm then noise hair free for a few weeks.

QueenOfMyWorld · 04/07/2018 11:53

I put NAIR hair removal cream on a cotton ear bud, apply then wash off

Honey1975 · 04/07/2018 12:30

Had mine waxed the other day. They were visible and making me self conscious. Waxing lady said its fine to just do the few visible ones obviously not right inside the nostrils! Feel so much better for it wish I'd done it sooner.

TheFaerieQueene · 04/07/2018 12:33

Please don’t put talc up your nose.

buddahbelly · 04/07/2018 13:12

Oh my god, the people waxing though - why oh why! like I get you want them gone but I couldnt imagine ever wanting to wax inside my nose, even those videos I watched on youtube, I had tears for them.

The nair cream I could possibly do, but the smell is disgusting at the best of times.

Don't pull them out, it's dangerous: metro.co.uk/2016/11/22/theres-a-danger-triangle-in-your-face-and-plucking-nose-hairs-can-kill-you-6275733/

My ex had recurring painful swelling on his nose from an ingrowing hair which grew through the nostril out the other side. There's no way to fix it once it happens, it becomes a chronic thing that flares up periodically. Just use a nose hair trimmer.

MargoLovebutter · 04/07/2018 16:08

I've been waxing for years, nothing will deter me! Grin I can see the bristles on those who use a trimmer.

Reedrummond · 04/07/2018 19:54

That Nads stuff from Boots is brilliant (I heard about it on MN). Now on second box & I’ve perfected my technique. Do it about every 3/4 weeks.

DioneTheDiabolist · 04/07/2018 19:57

I use baby scissors, you know the ones with curved instead of pointy ends, to do mine.

StillMedusa · 05/07/2018 00:05

I just pull them out! I have a couple that would stick right out given a chance, due to a deviated septum. Momentary eye watering ensues, but I can live with that!

Mollypolly2610 · 05/07/2018 02:02

I use my DH nose strimmer. Once you do it they disappear for ages. Mine do hang out my nose so I needed drastic measures.

anxious62 · 05/07/2018 14:41

I veet mine. It never ceases to amaze me what comes out!

ZippyCat · 30/12/2024 04:31

Ugh I agree hate it but never waxed I tend to blow my nose gets rid of lots but now I'm older I find it's becoming a daily chore or getting rid of them

HarrieV · 30/12/2024 06:57

Don't use wax!! It hurts and is prone to inflammation and sensitivity, so use small scissors to trim them carefully.

FungusTap · 30/12/2024 07:09

I’ve used Nads for years. Excellent stuff.

Lifestooshort71 · 30/12/2024 07:09

As you get older the hair on your head starts growing in instead of out and appears down your nose (well, that's how it seems) and the painless way to deal with it is to bend your nostrils this way and that, trimming off anything hairy that hangs out. Don't cut too far back or all those naughty germs will get in and knock you for six. When you're over 70 (I speak from experience) the really long and strong fuckers start escaping out of your nostril and take root where it joins your upper lip - from there it becomes a Zapata moustache. Be vigilant.
