I was talking to an Estee lauder rep online today and they told me that DW light has been discontinued. I cant understand this as I thought it was a really popular choice for people who didn't want the full on coverage of DW?

Also for anyone who wear it in shades 3, 4, 4.5, 5 or 6 John Lewis have reduced it to £22, must be to get rid of stock. No good to me unfortunately as I am pale as a ghost Smile

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! i just can't wear original double wear, it's like a mask on me but double wear light was just right AND the colour was just right for me too, i am very pale so have trouble finding shades the right colour for me. gutted, now i'll have to start the hunt to find something as or nearly as good again

LiquidCosh · 03/07/2018 19:23

I know I am the same, really pale and dislike the cakey feel of double wear. They still have some available on Boots and Debenhams websites etc but I'm sure they wont last long when word gets out!

I use the 'intensity' shade 1.0, i'm too pale for anything more than that. still full price at boots though. shame john lewis don't have the one i use Sad

BillStickersIsInnocent · 03/07/2018 19:40

No! I love that stuff, it’s perfect. Found out about it on here years ago and used it ever since.

LiquidCosh · 03/07/2018 19:46

Yeah I use the 1.0 intensity shade too, the allbeauty website have it for £29.95 which is a small saving but not sure if they charge for delivery

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 03/07/2018 19:59

if i remember rightly, allbeauty do free delivery if you spend over £20. they usually do at least

trigger2 · 03/07/2018 20:00

Aw no, I loved DW light :-( I found the original too heavy for me. Why have they done this ?

CutesyUserName · 03/07/2018 20:10

For those that prefer DW Light, just add moisturiser or sunscreen to DW to make it a lighter coverage.

AdaLoveless · 03/07/2018 20:30

I just bought some today. They just discontinued the old ‘shade intensity’ line, I think, and now you buy it in the same shades as the full double wear. At least, that’s what the Estée Lauder woman in my local Debenhams said.

user1471546359 · 03/07/2018 20:33

The lady in John Lewis said at the weekend they were bringing out a new double wear light ‘hydramatt’ (to replace the current one) that is virtually the same but in more shades. So hopefully no need to panic

LiquidCosh · 03/07/2018 20:34

I hope so Ada but I spoke to an Estee Lauder rep on their online chat facility earlier today and she said it is no longer available at all. Its not on their website as an option either.
That's a good idea about adding some moisturiser or sunscreen....do you think those foundation drops would work?

OP posts:
LiquidCosh · 03/07/2018 20:35

Ahh user that would make more sense as I am sure it is a really popular foundation and it makes no sense to completely discontinue it.

AdaLoveless · 03/07/2018 20:36

Well, I bought a bottle of the new one today, so it definitely exists! I think it was literally new out today, from what the EL person said.

LiquidCosh · 03/07/2018 20:36

Has anyone tried the doublewear nude?

OP posts:
LiquidCosh · 03/07/2018 20:37

That's good news Ada, have you tried it yet?

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 03/07/2018 21:20

Doublewear Nude Water Fresh is lovely and (IMHO) gives a more natural finish.

falang · 03/07/2018 21:57

Have you tried the Estée Lauder Cushion Stick. It's a lighter coverage than the normal doublewear. I like it for the summer and sometimes mix it with Doublewear.

LiquidCosh · 03/07/2018 22:53

Oh they both sound good, I wish I had the money to buy them all, try them then see which one is best but I don't Sad

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 04/07/2018 06:38

You can definitely get little bottles of samples at the EL counters.

Warsaw0912 · 04/07/2018 06:46

Yes I also spoke to a lady at the EL counter at the weekend and she said they are taking the old bottles out and replacing with the same formula but the usual DW colours, not just the intensities, which I am most excited about!! She said it’s in stores the week after next here (midlands)

AdaLoveless · 05/07/2018 10:30

Tried the new one today and it seems exactly the same as the old DoubleWear.

LiquidCosh · 05/07/2018 11:05

That's really good news Ada! Did you just buy in the usual shade you would wear in double wear? I think mine was called ecru.

OP posts:
trigger2 · 05/07/2018 11:06

I just asked on the website chat and this is about the dw light matt:

Doublw Wear light no longer available
Warsaw0912 · 05/07/2018 11:44

Hmm I guess we will just have to try - one thing I love about EL is that they are pretty free with the samples and I guess that’s because they are quite confident in the product
