Has anyone tried the Elemis tan accelerator or can recommend anything else? Read that you should start using one a couple weeks before holiday to enhance/pro long a tan! Thanks 😀

I know some people will say it's rubbish and doesn't work but I've been using the Gatineau one for over a week now and I haven't burned which is great so I'm looking forward to seeing how brown I go when on holidays shortly. It's keeping my skin moisturised if nothing else, if it doesn't work as a tan accelerator it won't have done any harm, that's how I look at it!

I buy a new Elemis tan accellerator every summer. It gives me a good base before I go away on hols and helps me skip the red and burnt stage once there as I tend just tan. I know there are other makes out there but this is the only one I have used. It definately works and is worth the money.

Thanks for the replies. Anyone else used one?? 😀

Lancaster is supposed to do a similar product I haven’t used one so watching this thread with interest.

anxious62 · 05/07/2018 18:08

I use elemis or Lancaster every year before my holiday and to me it makes a difference. Someone will come on here and say that’s rubbish blah blah blah but in my opinion and on my body it makes a difference.

I haven't used it but The Fox Tan gets amazing reviews - you should look it up! You can get it online or at Superdrug apparently. Have a lovely holiday.Smile

I've tried several, I don't tan well, mainly go a bit freckly, so they don't deepen any tan but I hope they give it a kick start.

IIRC- Elemis, Eco-Tan, Leighton Denny Sun-Believeable (or something) pretty much of a muchness.

I will use it before I go away even if its just to moistuirise

Moonkissedlegs · 05/07/2018 18:44

What do they actually do? Like to your skin?

SmellyNelly2018 · 05/07/2018 19:09

anxious62 Which product do you prefer is their much between them and what difference do you feel they make to your skin please?
Does it stop very pale skin from burning or allow you to get a deeper tan etc etc.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/07/2018 12:26

They stimulate the melolin production so that it's there waiting to act instead of 36 hours after exposure to sun.
So the theory is, use 14 days before exposure and on Day 1 your skin starts to tan.

They don't offer any SPF
They don't stop you getting burned

The Elemis one smells nice , flowery.

I watch too much QVC beauty hours Blush
