Please help me find a Dress!

I was wondering if anyone can please please point me in the right direction? I need to find a dress to wear to a wedding in late August and just can not find anything that fits or is appropriate.

I have been shopping all day and feel so miserable (like I do every time I go clothes shopping!) My issue is that I'm quite short (5'2") and am a bit top heavy.

I would love something floral and flowy and light in pretty colours, however everything like this is either far too long and I'd spend all day tripping over, or you can not wear a bra with it (not an option).

Does anyone else have these issues and have any suggestions? Or anyone just have some helpful advice? You wise owls are my last hope before I end up going in my pyjamas!

I’m short so I tend to buy something then turn it up or shorten the straps. Have you specifically tried petite ranges? Debos has one and I think ASOS might.

It’s boiling hot and shopping for something you need can be shit and really demoralising. I’d order a bunch of stuff from the above then try them on at home in comfort and peace in your own mirror with your own shoes and accessories.

What's your budget? I'm a fan of the DVF Simonia dress (I've got one and have recommended it on another thread) which is sold out but does come up on eBay and hire sites.

Something light and pretty like this? A v neck style is good for a generous top half!

Have you tried lindybop? Great online website, lots of 50s style dresses that have flown skirts but proper bust support. I have four of their dresses for that reason Grin

Roman Originals have some really lovely ones right now.

Thank you all so much. I definitely agree, I think online shopping is the way to go! I will look at all of your suggestions once DC are asleep. Thanks again!! Flowers

What dress size are you? John Lewis have loads in the sale at the moment and you can filter in lots of different ways to narrow down to eg dresses with cap sleeves etc.
