Help- lash extension reaction- one eye only ?

I’ve had lash extensions on and off for a year, with a break of a month or so every now and then to keep my natural lashes healthy - I love them. My technician Is hygienic, professional etc - I’ve never had any issues.
Last time the day after application one eye felt a little uncomfortable and the upper lid swelled up along the lash line for a couple of days. I thought it may be an infection so I used antibiotic eye drops. It went down after a few days. I didn’t get infills- had a break for about 6 weeks.
This time had them applied, next day the same eyelid has swelled up! It’s not disfiguring but quite uncomfortable and itchy. I’m now using antihistamines and allergy eye drops to try and keep it in check but I think I might have to get them removed.
Has anyone had this happen? It definitely appears to be a reaction to the glue or whatever due to the timings-
but why only one eye ? Why not both? I’m gutted, I love having them on but trying not to scratch it is driving me insane.

Apparently the tape they use can irritate your eyes for a few days, hence why it's not long term. I'd ask her to try a different tape if she can
