Fake tan for legs? Bumpy skin.

Hello all, hoping to get some advice so i can enjoy this weather in some comfy clothes instead of jeans and t shirts.

I have pale legs, they are much lighter than than my arms neck and face. They have lots of visible green, blue and purple veins in different sizes. I have dark knees ( i believe this is quite common with indian skin. ) i also haver really bumpy skin. Like goosebumps but all the time and worse around the top of my arms and legs. Have has this since i was a teen. Dr prescribed multiple acne treatments but it didnt help in the slightest.
I really want to try a fake tan. But im not sure which, i have never used a fake tan before. Alternatively, im happy to try something else. Idealy i would like for my legs to look smoother/ less bumpy, and even in colour.

I should add, i also have a horrible tan line around my ankles and halfway up my foot from where the skinny jeans stop and the shoes start.

I was going to try foundation on my legs for tomorrow but im afraid it will come off onto my clothes.

Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for an instant one, ie one you put on in the morning then wash off?

If so, get Vita Liberata body blur. It comes in several shades.

I swear by and use Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs lotion. It looks like liquid foundation and you just rub it on your legs and feet (but not too much on feet!). I use about the size of small grape for each leg and foot. It is great. It hides light blemishes or marks. I look like I'm wearing tights because my legs look so smooth. I practised once to make sure I could put it on properly. I tend to wear this for weddings and as my legs rarely see sunshine and my arms are always much browner than my legs, this stuff is perfect. Because it's usually summer when I use it, I also get hot.....this stuff doesn't wipe off or stain clothes. It only comes off with soap and water. I use the medium. I'm not dark, I'd say fairly average but the medium matches my arm colour. I got mine on offer from Asda but here's a link (hope it works!)for Boots so you can see what it looks like.

I think it was someone on here who first recommended it and I haven't found anything else I prefer.

The lumps could be keratosis pilaris. If you google it there are lots of things to try

Magicstar1 · 29/06/2018 19:10

I had the same bumps...keratosis pilaris. The best thing for it is the sun. Mine always disappears on holiday, and three weeks ago I got sunburnt at the tops of my arms. I now have the softest, smoothest skin ever.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 29/06/2018 19:47

I saw the airbrush legs. I wonder if b&m or home bargains sell it. Im desperate to get out of skinny jeans. Will try to find some tomorrow. There is an asda nearby so will check in there.

I think it could be keratosis pilaris. My arms have been out in tshirts this week but they dont seem any better. Never knew it actually had a name. Will try to post a picture of arms and legs but is that too much to post on the old interweb? Though would love to get a name for it and see if anything could help.

I can’t help with one to use but DO NOT USE Garnier Summer Body tinted moisturiser as it turned my legs orange Confused

Magicstar1 · 29/06/2018 21:27

Mine needed me to sit in the sun to get rid of it. The only other thing that works as well for me is Almond Shower Oil by L'Occitane.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 30/06/2018 18:41

So i bought a can of the airbrush legs. I got medium. Tried it on when i got home. The colour was fab although looked a bit cakey around the knees, but i feel like it really made the bumps and redness more visable. I tried a couple layers on one leg and a light layer on the other.
Am i doing something wrong?
It also didnt do anything to even slightly cover up a scar on my leg.

@TimeForMy10thCuppa I don't like the salt Hansen leg spray I find it heap quality and always goes on streaky. It's the only tan I ever have a problem with

DJR · 30/06/2018 18:55

I haven't used the spray before, just the lotion, so can't really advise. Sorry.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 30/06/2018 22:24

Darn it. Ok will look for the liquid one. I like the idea of it because it is washable. If it goes horribly wrong ( like today) its easy to get rid of.
Going to sit outside tomorrow and hopefully let the get my legs. I have slathered on the body butter tonight in the hope that the moisture will soothe the bumps.

I hope you get sorted.
