Fit flops and feet!

Hello wise people! I have 2 questions really-

  1. How do you clean the inner soles of your fit flops?
And
  1. How do I stop my feet from smelling so much in them?!

Really love them as they look good and are so comfortable. But, as with most sandals, struggling with my feet smelling! Plus, as a teacher, I have children sat near my feet for a lot of the day. Don’t want to traumatise them! :)

TIA

I've got fit flops and the innersole is just smooth leather. No issues at all.

Are yours more suedey like birkis?

If it’s the ones with the rubbery rubbery soles (I have the lulus), I wipe the sole every evening with dettol on an old rag. Been doing that for a couple of years and it doesn’t seem to have caused any damage. You can also get dettol anti bac wipes but I’m trying not to use wipes. I let them air dry and can happily confirm no smelly sandals. For the feet themselves, I use a peppermint foot spray from the body shop.

Only wear leather sandals.

And flip flops are not sandals. They are beach or housewear.

If you apply cream to your feet then wear Birkenstocks they will smell for ever as the cream gets into the cork sole.

I wipe my fit flops down with dettol too.

Dettol = best idea ever! I'm going to use this for my ancient but supremely comfy trekking sandals. Thank you!

Thanks very much!
Yes they are the rubbery sole ones like the lulu- I’ll try dettol and peppermint foot spray.

@lweji - they are sandals, the brand is fit flops and I have the same problem with my leather Clark’s sandals. They are just easier to clean!

It must be my feet :S ew!
