what can I wear with a smart navy blazer?

You'd think there are loads of options, but it's very dark navy, almost black. Can't wear black trousers with it, or a mismatch navy or any pattern with black or mismatch navy in it.

I tend to avoid pale trousers as I have very chubby legs, proportionally, and try to avoid drawing attention to them. I love this blazer but the only time it gets an outing is when I'm on Skype work calls that only show the waist up, and I'm wearing mismatched leggings hidden from view.

If anyone can link some ideas for smart work trousers that would suit a chubby pear shape with a very lovely dark navy blazer on, I'd be grateful.

Watching with interest. I've got a lovely navy Blazer that I only wear with jeans, with anything else I look like cabin crew.

LOL at cabin crew @choppingmushrooms - I know what you mean. Someone must be inspired. I love that blazer so much and it never gets an outing. Except with a dress which I'm now thinking makes me look just like 1980s cabin crew.

this is pretty much what I'd look like in it with jeans, and I don't like that look at all. It draws attention to the legs which aren't the best feature, and away from the face, hair and neckline which are. What inoffensive trousers can I put with it? I was thinking maybe smoky grey maybe?

You could wear in with dress/trousers in deep red or similar?

Get rid of the blazer it's too limiting

I love a blazer with skinny jeans and a white T shirt.
Timeless.

Try a dark charcoal grey trousers

I’m wearing these www.marksandspencer.com/pure-linen-wide-leg-cropped-flared-trousers/p/p60151769?image=SD_01_T57_7020S_T4_X_EC_90&color=GREYMIX&prevPage=plp
And also some chambray coloured full length linen trousers with my navy jacket just now. I’m a 16 on top, 18 on bottom, and told I look smart.

Love the idea of dark red Itscurtains - wouldn't have thought of that.

Definitely want some charcoal grey ones Andromeda but need to find the right cut.

Eloise - I agree it's a timeless look - one i'd love if I didn't have really chunky legs disproportionat eto the rest of me. That classic look really looks terrible on me, and I feel uncomfortable and self conscious whenever I wear it, as though I am one of those people who hasn't realised she's overweight.

@HollaHolla - what shoes/sandals would you wear with those linen trousers and your blazer? I'm interested that your blazer works with linen trousers. I wasn't sure if the mix of casual cut trousers and tailored jacket would look a bit odd. But worth a try. I love linen trousers.

I’m wearing navy flats, and also some navy/silver sandals from M&S. I don’t really do heels (back issue), but I might try some wedge sandals I’ve got - navy, bought on holiday one year.
