Skin lightening cream recommendations please!

Due to my medication, I have dark patches on my forehead and new ones appearing at the side of my eyes. I’m not as worried about the forehead ones as I can cover them with a fringe, but would prefer them to be gone!

I need to stay on the meds and a different brand won’t make any difference. GP has said the only option is to invest in some good products.

Can anyone recommend a good cream please? I don’t want to buy randomly online and end up scrubbing domestos into my face....!

If you're on medication I wouldn't use anything not prescribed. Can you consult a dermatologist? Can you cover it up rather than trying to lighten it? Can't think that would be good for your skin.

GP wouldn’t prescribe anything 🙄 nor will they refer to a dermatologist as they know the cause and because it isn’t a huge problem (ie covered by a fringe) then it doesn’t warrant the referral... I can’t afford to go privately either.

Niacinamide and liquorice extract have skin lightening/brightening functions and are relatively harmless ingredients. There’s loads of tips on the skincare threads. Smile

Thanks banivani, I’ll try and find the threads

Can’t help with an actual skin lightening product as I’ve never used them, but you can try Glycolic Acid by The Ordinary.

I have read a lot of posts from people online about how using this has also helped with skin discolouration like acne scars as a side effect (it’s used as a gentle, acid toner). It’s a bit famous for it’s complexion-evening properties. Personally I have tried using it on my underarms which were a bit dark from shaving, it did even out my skin tone however it doesn’t last if you stop using it.
