good face spf

Can anyone recommend a good face sun cream in a high SPF? I've burnt my face/ forehead previously because I have sweated my sun cream off so looking for something a) made for the face and b) that will stay put.

I'm not bothered about budget, I'd rather something that works.

disclaimer - I always wear a wide brimmed hat when possible but have usually burnt either swimming or snorkeling.

I use Biore Watery Essence SPF 50. I buy it on Amazon, it's about a tenner a tube. It's light and non sticky, and doesn't make my eyes sting. Also fine under make up

LoveInTokyo · 27/06/2018 12:54

I am currently using No.7 Protect and Perfect facial sunscreen. It is fine to use under makeup, although I'm currently just going barefaced and putting on a bit of powder if my face gets shiny.

I used it before when I was travelling in south east asia for several months (also not really wearing makeup) and I didn't burn once and had the best skin of my life. (Was drinking a shit ton of water though.)

LoveInTokyo · 27/06/2018 12:54

Oh and it comes in a variety of SPF and has a 5* UVA rating.

afternoonofmylife · 27/06/2018 12:57

Thanks both - I'll look into those. The non-stingy eyes bit is very appealing.

I've heard the La Roche Posay one is good but I've not got on with a couple of their products previously so didn't want to risk it.

Heliocare 360 Gel Oil Free. Recommended by loads of dermatologists. Specifically says "for oily and acne-prone skin, also suitable for wet and warm climates" (make sure you get the one labelled "Gel Oil Free")

Someone somewhere on here, (I think it was in aibu or chat) explained that it's not the spf but uva star rating that's important and that's hard to find on face creams for some reason.

I'm using a body shop one that seems to have a good rating but it's written as p+++ not UVA stars

ReluctantlyRedundant101 · 27/06/2018 14:25

I'm currently using Anti ageing face fluid from Superdrug it's SPF 30 and UVA 5*
Cost about three quid!

StephenStrange · 27/06/2018 14:29

I use body shop skin defence essence, probably the same one that Itsveryhard is using and it works great for me, it’s a watery milk type cream that goes on easily under makeup and dries quick.
Also have worn it on holiday in Greece and not burnt at all, just got a very light tan without reapplying

Battleax · 27/06/2018 14:33

Sun sense, Daily Face.

It’s a hybrid tinted moisturiser and an SPF50+ sunscreen. It also has very high UVA protection.

Butterfly1975 · 27/06/2018 14:33

I use Ultrasun facial SPF and really like it. Non greasy and has UVA/UVB rating.

TroubledLichen · 27/06/2018 14:41

Another vote for Ultrasun facial sunscreen. I use the spf30 but you can also get spf50.

liisha · 27/06/2018 14:55

The very best one I ever used that doesn't leave a horrible cast or that doesn't leave residue/stickiness is skin defence multi-protection essence by the body shop, it's brilliant.
Check out the reviews.

Green Energy Organic’s Le Fluide Ecologique Moisturizing SPF 30.

Blueisland · 27/06/2018 15:27

I second heliocare.

BusterGonad · 27/06/2018 15:53

I use Origins A World SPF 40. It smells amazing too.

WilsonPhillips · 27/06/2018 15:55

I am currently using Primark mattifying cream with SPF, it was only £2.50 and I really like it. I've got melasma and it's really helped to prevent more pigment blotches appearing.

elisexo · 27/06/2018 16:10

The Body Shop Skin Defence is SPF 50 and PA ++++, I cannot recommend it enough! It is a milky texture which isn't tacky or greasy on the skin. It's so amazing I wear it year-round, even in winter to protect my skin. I have tried UltraSun and found it too greasy.

Isabella1978 · 27/06/2018 16:37

Sorry if a repeat but Clarins do a good moisturiser (UV+ neutral SPF 50) which my mum uses post basal cell carcinoma on her nose.

BusterGonad · 27/06/2018 16:44

I mean a perfect world!

bella9 · 27/06/2018 17:04

ultrasun is fab, I use anti pigmentation spf 50

SixHours · 27/06/2018 17:09

I second Biore

Marv1nGay3 · 27/06/2018 17:09

Another vote for Ultrasun face! I am very pale and use the factor 50+.

chocolatesprinkle · 27/06/2018 17:41

Does anyone know a good SPF that is also a decent moisturiser?

HesterHare · 27/06/2018 19:37

Someone on here recommended Frezyderm to me, ordered off Amazon and it's really lovely, goes on like a primer though so I'm using moisturiser first (also with SPF but no UVA protection). I accidentally ordered the tinted one and it looks very dark when it first comes out of the bottle but it blends in really well on my very pale skin.

Zeldaaa · 27/06/2018 19:41

I also use frezyderm, spf50. I use it as a primer before applying foundation.
