Trainers for running and dresses

Is this possible?

I want a pair of Stan Smiths or Supergas to wear with skirts, dresses and jumpsuits. I planned to wear them to travel on holiday but now realise I need running trainers too (only for holidays so running 5–10K distances). Any suggestions for a multi tasking trainer?

Quite like these but not sure they’d work with dresses?

You need proper trainers for running, not fashion trainers, so I don't think one pair will do for both.

Running trainers are for running only.

Stan Smiths and Supergas both look great with dresses.

I do have proper running trainers I was just trying to avoid taking 2 pairs away...looks like I can’t avoid it.

I would just wear the running ones with dresses- I had a pair of pink ASICS that were nice to run in, good with shorts and okay with dresses- you don’t get that lower line iyswim, but if you can find a not too technical looking pair of running shoes it should look okay!

I'm currently packing for a city break and facing the same issue. I do as tanaqui does- take a decent enough shoe to run in and wear with trousers and shorts in a 'fashion' shade to go with wardrobe I'm taking. Black in winter, pale blue in summer. I travel in these and I also slip a light pair of walking sandals into my hand luggage. Merrell or something close.

New Balance are pretty good for running in but also “fashion” - I used to use mine before I bought proper running trainers and they were pretty comfortable. Tbh though I don’t think any of the sporty style trainers look good with dresses (no matter what the fashion pack tell us) so would pack separates - they might get a bit whiffy if you use them for running and casual wear too!

I’d take a separate super-light pair of trainers for running. Anything sporty enough for proper running risks you looking like Lily Allen around 2006 if you try to wear it with dresses etc.

I always wear the same running shoes, which I buy every six months regardless of colour - you risk screwing up your knees, ankles etc. I'd take my running shoes and a pair of sandals.

Thanks for all the replies! I laughed at the Lily Allen comment!!
