Ordered something online at M&S and notice I have a Sparks balance despite ditching the card ages ago. Happy days!

Tried clicking on the Sparks link but it’s frozen. Booo.

Am I rich??? Or does this mean I can claim tuppence off a box of fish fingers when I buy beige knickers at my nearest store (45 miles away)?

Yup that is pretty much all you can get. Most useless card ever. Ditched mine a while back and quite gleeful when I am asked if I have one and can say no - it's rubbish!

lurkingfromhome · 26/06/2018 14:33

It must be the only loyalty card in the history of lottery cards where the number of points you have seems to have no relevance whatsoever to what you can actually do with them. It's totally baffling.

lurkingfromhome · 26/06/2018 14:33

lottery cards? What am I on about? Loyalty cards!

swimmerlab · 26/06/2018 14:37

It's a bit rubbish but they donate to charity as a result of people using them so I continue to use it.

blueskypink · 26/06/2018 14:46

Oh come on - you've not been trying! I've got 236,800 sparks points.

I buy a lot of food there - wouldn't want you to think I'm dressed head to toe in Per Una's finest frills, ruffles and pointless embellishments.

Because of my high number of points I was once told I could be entered into a draw for tickets for the Highland Show in Scotland. We live in the south east of England.

WoodenCat · 26/06/2018 15:58

Oh. Sad. I thought perhaps I could use them towards a purchase.

I stopped giving them my card when I realised I had to log on to find offers. Plus I moved miles from a store. I didn’t realise I was still collecting them with online shopping and had got all hopeful that I would get some sequins or an appliqué owl free with my next floral striped floaty top with button details. Damn you M&S Sparks for raising my hopes so cruelly.

Blue sky pink I'll raise you to 247000 worthless points due to buying furniture there for my mum. In return today's offer is 10% off steak. If they knew their customer they would realise we are veggies.

Cacofonix · 26/06/2018 16:19

@blueskypink that has taken some dedication on your part. You should be proud. Grin

unintentionalthreadkiller · 26/06/2018 16:33

Nothing!

BigGreenOlives · 26/06/2018 16:40

They gave me a free box of chocolates on my birthday.

blueskypink · 26/06/2018 17:46

It took me about 6 months to realise that you have to actively put the rewards on your card. Another sneaky trick is that some of the 'better' (and I use that term loosely) offers have a very short life and once you click on them you have to use them within a ridiculously short timescale.

Anyway, I see there is a purpose to my points at last! Because I have over 17,000 points (surely that's everyone who's ever bought a sandwich and bag of crisps in Marks?) I can ..... wait for it .... join Sparks members in my area on 29 June and enjoy Disney's latest release Patrick - a sure fire hit with pug-loving families. Oh wait, tickets are £8 ....

Butterfly1975 · 26/06/2018 20:42

With all those points you'll get early sale access to all the polyester tat Wink

TantricTwist · 26/06/2018 22:38

My DM has had free Christmas presents with her sparks card like a scarf and stuff and special events at M&S stores etc.

Cherrypie32 · 26/06/2018 22:45

74,300 sparks, boom 💥 this appears to get me 10% off tonic and fruit this week 🙄

FadedRed · 26/06/2018 22:46

I use mine to scape the ice from the car windscreen in the winter.

MinesaPinot · 27/06/2018 09:45

Absolutely nothing at all. I've got a similar amount. Even the sales assistant had the grace to look embarrassed when I queried what the point of the Sparks card was. I wouldn't mind if it worked like the Boots or Superdrug ones do. Mind you, I did get some vouchers through the post recently - amazingly there were useful ones like 20% off bras and 10% off REN. Annoyingly they came just after I'd made an order to get my Beauty Box, and those were the very things I'd bought.......

eloisesparkle · 27/06/2018 09:48

Why can't they just do a Boots card style loyalty card ?
I did email the Managing Director of M&S Blush some years back suggesting similar, to no avail obviously.

TuTru · 27/06/2018 09:52

Give it to them & tell them to keep it!

FredSheeran · 27/06/2018 10:30

it's literally only worth it for early sale access. And that's only because quite often they put stuff in the early 50% off access that never ends up in the actual sale at all, because Maureen from Soft Fruit's in charge of the IT now, and she just presses all the buttons she can see and hopes no one checks up on her.
