Son is spotty but just underneath requiring a gp visit. Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good product to buy him. He's used cheap stuff to no avail. I'd like to buy him something effective and better quality but don't know where to look.

Acnecide face wash. You leave it on for a minute and then wash off. My two boys use it and it controls their spots. It contains 5% benzoyl peroxide which is quite strong and effective. It also seems to be easier for boys to use a face wash rather than a cream.Acnecide cream can also be used on very spotty areas but is very drying.

Thank you! When I was a teenager I used the cream version. This is back in the 80s. It was very drying and looking back might have caused rebound spots.

I'll try the face wash. Can it be bought in boots?

Boots do an online acne clinic service whereby you fill out a form online and they prescribe (if required) products which are usually prescription only. Google Boots Acne Online Clinic.
