Moisturiser - SPF or not plus recommendations please

Can I have some moisturuser recommendations please. Have just finished Guerlain Super Aqua Daycream and not sure whether to look for something with an SPF or not. Any recommendations please - both for SPF and non SPF.

Thanks

Can’t recommend a specific moisturiser (still looking for a good one myself) but you can use a non-SPF moisturiser and then a SPF protector cream (I use Bobbi Brown SPF50) on top of whatever I’m currently trying 😬)

Kiehl’s ultra facial moisturiser (bottle version)

Clinique moisture surge (the new version over the intense version)

Origins Drink Up intensive mask
Origins matte moisturiser

I use MAC’s spf (face protect lotion) as it doesn’t affect makeup application

Thanks ladies. So, looks like moisturiser with a separate SPF. Will have a look at Bobbi Browne and Mac for an SPF. What order do you apply - is it moisturiser, SPF and then foundation?

Yes I'd do it in that order. I use La Roche Posay facial sunscreen, it's good and v non greasy, sinks in well.

lhastingsmua · 24/06/2018 22:23

I would apply it in that order too.

Personally my skin is a bit dry so I prefer using certain moisturisers, I haven’t tried a moisturiser with spf that suits my skin. Your experience could be different though - If your skin is normal/oily then you could even get away with just using sunscreen by itself.

NackeredMom · 25/06/2018 15:13

Thanks both. I’ve always used a moisturiser without an SFP so will stick to that and try to find an SFP which suits my skin. Shall check out those that have been recommended.

Destinys, if you see this would you mind linking the LRP product that you use ... there are loads and am not sure which is suitable for under makeup.

A second vote for the Kiehl's. They do a version with SPF but they've had supply problems and it's a bit hit and miss finding it. However, the non-SPF version is just as good.

NackeredMom · 25/06/2018 15:50

I have tried the Kiehl’s (bottle version) and couldn’t wait to finish it and get something different! It just felt too thin a consistency although it lasted much lomger than the Guerlain moisturiser that I’ve just finished.

I’d use a non spf moisturiser and then add a separate spf. You won’t get the spf advertised on the moisturiser unless you apply a shedload way more than you would need to moisturise.

Currently I’m using Clinique moisture surge for moisturiser, and for spf alternating between body shop skin defence multi protection essence and Benefit dream screen. Dream screen is slightly better under makeup if that matters to you.

The olay 7 in 1 one has glycerin and niacinamide in the first 3 ingredients
Plus it is spf 15
The formulation is excellent considering the price
Better than many high end
I find it doesn’t clog pores

PinCard · 25/06/2018 21:48

i use simple spf. Its SPF 30 and dead cheap. I apply with sponge.

NackeredMom · 25/06/2018 21:58

So many replies - thank you. Quite like the look of the Clinique Mosture Surge. How is it under make-up? Very reasonably priced compared to the £85 I paid for the Guerlain moisturiser,
