Ok lovely ladies I need some advice. I want to ditch as much plastic as possible so am looking for a good shampoo and conditioner bar. Im looking for cruelty free and as natural as possible.
Any recommendations? Xxxxx

I’ve been happy with the ones I’ve used from Lush. They last ages. Pick whichever sounds most suitable for your hair type!

I thought all Lush bars had SLS in them which isn't great for the environment.

Yes, they do. For now I’m satisfied with what they have got to say about that (uk.lush.com/article/dont-stress-about-sls) and for me the small chance of toxicity to acquatic life before it has biodegraded and/or been diluted in the water treatment process is balanced out by the chance to avoid plastic packaging.

I like the fact that Lush actually engages with the issue rather than just saying it’s all 100% natural and then not providing any evidence on environmental or human impact. For instance alcohol is natural but I’m guessing it wouldn’t do acquatic life much good if I emptied it into their environment in sufficient concentrations.

Like the OP, I’d be interested in any other recommendations.

Lush shampoo bars are very good and last a long time but there are also lots of companies on line who also sell products like this. Trial and error really

I've started using Friendly shampoo bar and really like it. I never condition anyway so can't help with that. However, it seems some people on here using coconut oil as a pre-wash. Coconut oil is often in glass jars, might be worth a try.

This is really helpful. I’ll try a few out and report back. Thank you. Xxx

Yes Bebe sells some. I'm still using faith in nature though, you can buy refills if you have space to stash a 5l bottle!
