Cooling down hair tone

I'm trying to get my hair to a colour similar to the first pic below, from a warmer colour similar to the second pic.

I had balayage done on it this week and while it's looking a lot more like what I want, it's still quite a bit warmer than what I'd like ideally. My hairdresser did tell me beforehand that she probably wouldn't be able to cool it so much in one go.

I'm not expecting miracles and would rather have hair in a decent condition than try to do too much too soon, but is there anything I can do to try and cool it down a bit? I'm happy with the colour of it in general, just want to go from a slightly golden tone to a more cool, ashy one. I'm going on holiday in 4 weeks time and would love for it to be a bit cooler by then, though only if I can do it in a healthy way.

I read somewhere about using purple shampoo, has anyone tried this? Or can I get a toner put on it at the hairdressers without colouring it again? Or anything else I should be doing?

Thanks!

Bleach London purple shampoo is good but only worked for me when I use it every day for a week or so
. I’ve tried all the purple shampoos to no avail but using this one daily did work for me

Get a fudge tone up gift pack. It's shampoo and blow dry spray and gives great tone.

The best purple shampoo is Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Shampoo.

I have white blonde hair and it keeps it cool but my friend uses it on her dark hair and looks like your picture x

I use Joico colour balance blue shampoo. My hair is brown and highlighted and prone to warmth Angry They say that its all about undertones. Orange undertones needs blue shampoo and yellow undertones needs purple. Blue is far more effective on my hair than purple

Everyone seems to be craving these drab cool tones at the moment, they just look grey to me. The warm pic is much nicer, IMHO.

Thanks all, seems like Fudge is very popular so I'll be investing in some of their purple shampoo!

@Bugjune - I do think the warm pic is lovely, but the cool one looks better on my skin tone.

Apparently this shampoo is really good, it’s supposed to be extremely high intensity.
