Hot day - funeral wear - sze 16/18

Need something to wear for a funeral next week in likely 29 deg. I'm short and bordering on a size 16/18. Don't want to show too much skin as it could be classed inappropriate for the occasion, but on the other hand don't want to be too hot. It's a two hour journey. Been told NOT to wear black or overly dark colour as we are celebrating a life.

What kind of dress would be acceptable? Nothing too 'sunny' beach wear obviously. Can you lovely ladies style me, please?

Love the White Stuff linen dress. Nicer than M&S alternatives !

I'd wear a comfortable, short-sleeved outfit in a natural fibre for the journey.

Plan a stop somewhere near the destination and add the "finishing touches" as these are what will make you feel overheated - tights, smarter shoes, jacket, make-up. If the service is in a church or crematorium chapel, these are usually quite cool.
Dress down again for the wake if possible.
