Work experience shoes for teen DD

16 year old DD has a week’s work experience coming up in an office with a very smart dress code. She’ll be wearing dresses and that’s fine but her shoe choices are currently restricted to Docs, Vans and a rather charming pair of goth biker boots.

It’s a decent length public transport commute and she’s had problems with her feet so both high heels and cheap thin soled ballet flats are out. It’s going to be hot so she’ll have bare legs. Anything I suggest is greeted with teenaged eye-rolling hmm

Can anyone please give me some links to likely candidates - ideally reasonably priced. I can then wave them at her before we head out so we have a plan, rather than hitting Oxford Street blindly and hoping for the best which might actually kill me. Thanks

Let her get to the office in trainers. I almost always walk to and from the station in trainers.
How about something like this m.zara.com/uk/en/flatform-derby-shoes-with-reversible-fringe-p15318201.html?v1=5323242&v2=542062 ?

Or brogues from Clarks?

ThomasNightingale · 22/06/2018 20:53

I guess you’re right, if she commuted in her Vans then Primark ballet flats around the office wouldn’t do any harm. And she’ll need a rucksack for the laptop so she’ll have something to carry it in.

I did think of brogues but won’t they look odd with bare legs?

Those Zara’s are great but perhaps not quite the look with a linen shift dress.

DM shoes? They're a bit pricy but might be acceptable to wear afterwards?

Loafers maybe? I wear them to work. Or flat slingbacks?
