Heat protector for hair (must be cruelty free)

I'm attempting to grow my hair , so I'm using a hot brush (the rotating blow dry on) and occasionally a straightener.

I need something to protect though or I'll end up frazzled.

I've got some Paul Mitchell 'The Conditioner' shall I invest in something from that range or what else is out there?
Hair is wavy , not fine and can take a fair bit of product, doesn't go limp.

I got some "Roots Double Effect" spray / heat protector.

From the label it seems aimed at hair loss , but I thought I'd give it a dry.
My hair feels smooth after the drying brush so I'm happy with that.
Still planning on getting a Paul Mitchell spray later.
