What is WRONG with my EYELIDS?! EVERY SINGLE EYELINER SMUDGES.

Pissing arse.

I have spent hours researching eyeliners. I have tried

MUA intense colour
L’oreal infallible 24 hour gel waterproof magic unicorns
GOSH ultimate eyeliner with a twist (this is not too bad in camouflage green but is discontinued and a bit pale) in brown it smudges like a cowbag
So I finally gave in and spent FIFTEEN POUNDS on a FUCKING EYELINER. (Urban decay 24/7 glide on shite. In ‘Desparation’, yes this is the name of the colour!

And this is the result. It has bloody smudged.

What am I going to dooooooo? I’ve been wearing the camo green one above for years but am bored and running out of sources for it. Last one was from eBay and not sealed...

I don’t suit black.

Fifteen pounds on a shite eyeliner.

Cyo is the new name for boots 17 tattoo me. This doesn't shift, even overnight. Takes a minute to dry, but it's worth it. Only a fiver.

ggirl · 22/06/2018 11:10

Eyeliner doesn’t work after a certain age - not true. Eyeliner worn properly right up close and in-between the lashes (tight lining)is perfect for women who are older.

Mabelface · 22/06/2018 16:56

This is a 48 year old eye. Currently wearing Elf liquid eyeliner. Not quite as good as the CYO, but works well.

If I don't want to use liquid, I use a eye liner brush, spray it with setting spray (urban decay is hands down the best) then dip it into whatever colour eyeshadow I want.
The wet makes the colour pop, but once it dries, it's not going anywhere! Try it with a cheaper setting spread first? Barry M matte is really good and only about £5

Tipsylizard · 22/06/2018 17:09

Urban decay primer and Estee Lauder double wear eyeliner in expresso. Doesn't shift all day.

lindyloo57 · 22/06/2018 17:47

i have the same problum i like wearing eyeliner under my lower lash, have tried so many eyeliners from £5. to £20. nothing works on me.

ItWillAllBeOkayInTheEnd · 22/06/2018 21:02

Which Urban Decay primer do you recommend? There seem to be a few. I have the same problem as OP, and £30 worth of Debenhams beauty points to spend!

Mac Paint pot in the skin colour plus Kat Von D tattoo liner 👌🏻

I've got hooded eyes and oily skin too and this is the only thing that works

FireandBrimstone · 22/06/2018 23:35

Stila Stay All Day liner. They've just brought out a second version with a micro tip, which I'll be trying soon. But the original is utterly fab.
Second favourite is Mac Eyeliner.
Waterproof, always waterproof.
I recently tried two from the Eyeko range. The Eye Do one was good and stayed in place but it only lasted a couple of weeks before it dried out. The Black Magic leaves me a smudgey black mess by the end of the day.

steppingonIego · 23/06/2018 00:08

I had the same problem.

The solution to my problems is rimmel waterproof liquid eyeliner.

It doesn't shift all day - even with an eye rub or two.

Seriously try it!!!!!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 23/06/2018 07:23

I use loose powder (ELF HD translucent powder) before applying. I use crayon eyeliners eg Avon glimmer sticks then I have to set it using more loose powder on a small brush. This then lasts the day without wandering

Hunter007 · 23/06/2018 16:25

It's because you've hooded eyes. I'm the same and even with a decent primer it smudges after a few hours. I now have it tattooed on

falang · 23/06/2018 16:38

The only one that doesn't smudge on me is a Lancôme one that is like a black marker pen. It looks very thick but can be put on thin. Not cheap but worth it.

ilovewinterpansies · 29/06/2018 06:02

@ggirl I just want to say I bought the wunder liner after your recommendation in your post and it really is the holy fucking grail of eyeliners.

Thank you forever!!! Grin

ggirl · 29/06/2018 08:54

@ilovewinterpansies your welcome Smile I'm so glad you agree , it's amazing isn't it ?!

ilovewinterpansies · 29/06/2018 10:24

@ggirl I use wunderbrow and love that too. The liner is great and as it wears it wears nicely (know what I mean? Like when it's a few hours old, it doesn't smudge under eyes but gradually wears off towards the lash line which still looks good).

Anyone used other wunder products?

ggirl · 29/06/2018 10:42

I used to use the wunderbrow but have had my brows microbladed so don't need to touch them now-bliss

I'm tempted by their mascara but I think it looks like a typical tubing one which I've tried before and my eyes water too much for them, little stray tubes flaking off isn't a good look.

SapphireSeptember · 29/06/2018 15:02

I have horrendously oily lids, both B. Cosmetics kohl pencils (you find them in Superdrug) and L'Oréal infallible gel crayon eyeliner pencils work on my eyelids. Although I've since discovered the CYO gel eyeliners (from Boots) and they're really good as well (they didn't smudge at all, even after ten hours of wear and me washing my face, impressive.) Although they only have five colours so far. Sad Black, brown, gold, dark metallic purple and bright metallic turquoise (I have the latter two and I love them, your milage may vary.)
