Kipling vs Leather Handbags

I have a lovely Tula leather handbag which I got from Ebay brand new at a cheap price a few years ago. I love it and it is so strong and will last me forever, only thing is the lining has torn but I have sewn it, apart from that the leather is really tough and hard wearing.

However, the leather bag is heavy, its a cross body one and is heavy if I wear it across me or on my shoulder. I do fancy a Kipling bag as they are very light even when full I have heard, but I know they are not very dressy and I do like my leather bags.

I don't want to accumulate a lot of bags as I just stick to the basics, a day to day handbag, a tote bag and an evening bag and that's it.

Would you say its best to stick with leather?

I use Kipling bags, but it is for sheer practicality - I was on crutches for a long time, and still need to be careful not to unbalance myself. They last forever, you can chuck them in the washing machine and they come out like new, they are as light as a feather, and they are tardis like in their capacity. But...I acknowledge they are just about the ugliest and least stylish things I have ever seen in a bag. Have a completely love hate relationship with mine. So, no clear answer - the bags are fabulously fit for purpose, and as fugly as hell. Grin. You choose your priory, I guess.
