Can I wash this Marks & Spencer work wear blazer?

I've been looking for a smart 'interview' blazer style jacket for a while and found one in a local charity shop.

£5. Bargain.

However, the size and care labels have been cut out.

It was recently made (Marks & Spencer label not St Michael), and, like the title says is your standard, generic work wear.

Navy, single breasted, single buttoned, two external pockets, two internal pockets, a stitching detail inside and out, fully lined in grey and light blue.

Does anybody recognise it?

Can I wash it?

Does it have to be dry cleaned only?

I don't own that particular jacket but I have washed several of mine and they've come out fine. Put on a 30 degree delicate cycle with a low spin and then hang to dry. Light iron when dry using one of those ironing cloths to prevent sticking or shine. I'd chance it since it cost a fiver!

Don't recognise this one but my DD school blazer is M&S , lined.

I've washed it 2-3 times this year , inside out in a net laundry bag, 30c wash, turn right way round and hang to dry.

Does it feel like wool or can you tell what its made from?

It's definitely not wool.

I doubt if it's even been shown a natural fibre...

As I said, it seems to be the sort of generic work wear that swamps certain corners of M&S.

Hi i have this in black n from MnS. I have always dry cleaned it. So don't know if it will be ok for machine wash. But its a good but for 5 quid for sure.

Chances are it's all polyester so I'd chance it and wash on a gentle 30 degree cycle (either a 'handwash' or 'wool' cycle). Then hang it up to dry immediately.

Most M&S jackets (apart from the wool ones) are fine in the washing machine. Just use a delicates/handwash cycle.

Thanks all.

I'll risk it in the washing machine.
