Boob or busted?

So I am large of frame but small of boob. I've been wearing a B cup since I was a size 12 but I'm now a size 20 and all my bras are uncomfortable, despite obviously going up band sizes.

Boob or bust measured me at a 38 HH!! Bought a 38H to try and frankly it's ridiculous. It's quite obvious they've used the cup sizes to increase the band size. Granted, the bra fits, and it covers my chest, but my boobs are only about 1/4 of the cup size!

I've heard such good things about BoB, how did they get it so wrong?!

It probably isn't as far off as it seems, need to adjust the shoulder straps and make sure you scoop all the side boob in. It feels very different from an old style fitting.

Also have you breastfed, or how old are you ? I'm over 50 and breastfed my children many moons ago. This has resulted in empty boobs ( they don't have much volume in them but I'm still quite big in the cup. Padded bras are no good for me because the boon seems to just flatten out and sit sadly I'm the bottom of the cup. Whereas a non padded bra , it all goes where it should go iyswim.

I scooped but there's honestly nothing to scoop.

I'm 30 and have been bfeeding for a year so my balloons are at that stage about a week after the party where you really should pop them and start to feel sorry for them.

It was like I was wearing a top in a bra shape. My boobs fit in the cups but so could both my hands and probably the whole contents of my handbag!

BoB also didn't like that my tight was 37inches but my snug was 40.

I really need some nice bras! I've gone back to work and bfing bras just aren't cutting it.

My tight and snug was only an inch difference . But my leaning size was huge. Apparently I'm a 34 hh. I'm not brave enough to order online but might sneak into a shop under the cover of darkness and wearing a disguise !

KatharinaRosalie · 20/06/2018 19:04

If the back feels right, go to a shop, get all 38 band bras down from H and start trying. You will see when you get to the right size.

SorrelForbes · 20/06/2018 19:06

What style did you try? Moulded t-shirt bras and full cup styles are often tricky to get right and don't actually suit a lot of people.

goose1964 · 20/06/2018 19:07

They made me a 40 HH I had to go down to an F cup before I found a good fit, the HH was like satsumas in a carrier bag

Bombardier25966 · 20/06/2018 19:09

The method can be off for those with a certain sag (me!). Order a few cups sizes down too.

LemonysSnicket · 20/06/2018 19:56

I'm quite thin and average of bust and am a 28DD .. it fits, very very comfortable compared to the 32B I used to wear. I think it works.

LemonysSnicket · 20/06/2018 19:58

Though maybe your breasts are shaped differently which means cups don't work as well- I can't wear a full cup as I have most of my mass in the base so have to wear balcony's. Try some different shapes?

Modestandatinybitsexy · 20/06/2018 20:28

@goose1964 satsumas in a carrier bag is definitely it!!

I tried a slightly padded t shirt bra style. I've ordered the same in a 38D and 38E.

@Namethecat ordering online is great! I've ordered 3 sizes and I'll just send anything that doesn't fit back. Much better than having to walk past an assistant and then getting all naked in a tiny cubicle.
